Advanced search options.

I think that in the ROM downloads section that it would be a neat feature to include advanced search options. Instead of just being able to choose to list the titles by letter, you should be able to list all title that fit into the action genre, puzzle, FPS, adventure ect. Also be able to search by release date of the game title, ESRB rating, and Publisher of the title. Also have a user rating system like have five stars beside each game title and when you are logged in you can rate your favorites 1 to 5 stars and get recommendations for other titles based on your ratings. I got this idea from how Netflix has their site set up for movies if anyone is familiar with that system. I know these would probably be complicated features to implement to the site, just an idea I thought I'd share. I've never seen these features on any other ROM site, so if you could add them, it would definitely make coolROM the greatest site ever.

I don't know, you can run advanced searches when you search for past forum posts. The hard part would be that the genre, publisher, release date ect would have to be attached so they could be searched for.

you r right, this is quite difficult. however, do you think it is very important to search by publisher,release date such thing?:confused:

That will take me months, maybe even years to do :D. I have to go through each game and sort them into genres, and we have over 8000 titles!
