Hi, I am taking Kameo's Advice and Trying MESS emu to play my roms (atari 2600/5200/7800/,ect,ect.
I just need some help running it. How do i get it to load my roms? Do I need to get each individual BIOS for each of the atari systems? I hope not that will be a pain.
I got on their FAQ and Message board and couldn't find anything.
This is where I am at so far:
--I found the system on the list in the left frame (ex.-ATARI 7800)
--I right clicked it and went to properties>>software>>browse , and pointed it to my roms.
--my roms were then displayed in the window named "picker"
--when i double click on a title to open it i get a messasge that says:
"MESS encountered a fatal error: the system cannot find the specified file"

I feel like such a moron, what am i doing wrong/missing?
Please help me

that helps a little.

I found a website wit the bios files, downloaded them to the bios folder as .zip files, and it still won load! i get "inititialization error?"
WTF?????!!!!!

what does it take to get this emu to work? if its so great why is it the most un-user friendly piece of crap i have ever downloaded. if this thing doesnt work someone please tell me before i waste more of my life trying to get it to.

I don't have much experience with MESS, just tried it a few times ... often resulting in the problems you are having right now.
I guess that's the reason it's called mess ;)
Well, here's another tutorial, maybe that's something for you (http://www.atariage.com/7800/emulation/mess_tutorial/).

Really don't know if it's worth the trouble.
