Just wanted to clarify this. Homebrew apps are not all illegal. Emulators and Roms ARE illegal, but if someone writes up some Home-made code that lets you use your PSP as a remote control for your TV set, or some other goofy thing like that, it's perfectly legal.
A moderator on the Official PSP Website said tha thaving verison 1.50 Firmware on your PSP is totally fine. What Sony doesn't support is downgrading from a current verison or using unlicensed software. And obviously runing an Emulator on it is totally out of bounds. They shipped many PSPs with 1.5 Firmware in other countries, so they have to accept that it is possible to do both good and bad with a 1.5 PSP. Just like you can do both good and bad with a PC.
I like to use the gun analogy here. It's legal to own guns, it's just not legal to shoot people without justification with that gun.:nono:
Same with PSP - you can do whatever you want with a PSP you own, as long as what you do doesn't break any laws.
Just some food for thought.
For the record - I do not endorse anything Sony themselves do not endorse. It's very easy to screw up your PSP permanently and void your warranty with all this stuff. That said, if people bought a PSP and they are willing to risk messing it up to run legal Homebrew apps, more power to them.
