first, try a different game. i know for some emus you dont even have to have the roms in the emu folder, so file location is likely not the problem. or read the readme file if the emulator came with one. if you cant figure it out, try a different emu.

Have you ever gotten them to load before? You probably just need to browse to the right folder that you have your ROMs in. It varies from emu to emu, but usually something like File>Open then use the explorer window to find the folder you have the ROMs in. Also, you usually don't have to extracted the zipped folders the roms are in. I don't think it hurts if you do, but it takes up more space on your harddrive.
