Need help getting started with Dreamcast

Im new to this emulator stuff so I might sound like a retard....

I downloaded chankast alpha but i only got 1 file and when i run it it tells me that windows cant run the program. I used to have project 64 and i got a whole bunch of files with it and it worked. So is getting 1 file for the dreamcast emulator ok? If it is can anyone help me get started?

Don't use chankast. Use nullDC. It works alot better.

I downloaded it, but how do i run a game?
It still says that windows can't run the program

you need to unzip it and get the bios (dc_flash.bin and dc_boot.bin ,google it.)then it should work after you configure all of the plugins

When u downloaded nulldc i didnt get anything that needed unzipping, i only got a file called (nullDC_100b1_6.rar) I got the bios, but is the whole thing the bios and the file i downloaded?

Download winrar to access the files inside the rar.

you need to decompress the rar file get winrar online as a free trial, and no the bios don't come with the download so you have to google them and download them separately and put them in the data file.

and most of the games come compressed as rar so you'll need it anyway
