I have recently downloaded the epsxe link that had all the bios and stuff in it. but for some reason, when I try to start a game, it is black. after a minute, the logo will pop up, then black again, this time for good. Can anyone please help me out here?

Do you get a warning when opening the emu?
Are you sure you configured the bios?
It sounds like your running it without a bios.
What bios are you using?

change your video plugin to something else, try all of them, give it 30 seconds to show the games though.
It's not giving you a .dll error is it?
also again, what game?

No error. I let it sit for over ten minutes: nothing. I'm trying Digimon Rumble arena and Digimon World 3

You get a black screen if you select run disk and you didn't properly configured the cdrom plugin.

Okay, I started one during my last post, and now i checked up on it. A cutscreen is showing with two bars on top and bottom that look like random flashing snowstorm stuff. This is almost 15 minutes since i started. I choose file, run ISO to start.

Try another game, their should be a pool game in sports that's 1 mb, it runs on epsxe, it may be you simply have 2 rare case won't run epsxe games.

Your using epsxe 1.70?
Have you tried running the iso with a virtual drive?
Shimahamaru
05-12-2009, 04:17 PM
yes, 1.70. You have any idea what is wrong?
What is a virtual drive.

I'm still not sure your extracting it, a virtual drive in an artificial drive like daemon tools, where you put an iso in the virtual drive and the emulator recognizes it as a game.
You didn't get a zilb.dll issue or something similar right?

That may be it, those are RAR or 7-zip files, meaning you need to download either winrar or 7-zip to extract them.
you only need one and 7-zip is free, in a way winrar is too, but at the same time it isn't.

Well i know beyblade is a 7z file, since i uploaded it myself, i'll test it, if this doesn't work tell me a game you want to try and i'll test it myself.
Also fyi some 7z files won't open in winrar properly, just giving info.
Well it works fine in mine, try this, this is my personal epsxe 1.70, already preconfigured, use the keyboard to test it since it's also controller configured:

If this doesn't work, i can only think of one possible conclusion.

Unless your not actually clicking on the iso(in beyblade, it would be beyblade.CCD) than it's your video card, or lack thereof.

This is a stupid question... but how do you maximize the window on the ePSXe 1.7.0 emulator?

Mine will always auto-fullscreen when I open an ISO.

when you select your video plug-in ,you can configure that plug-in by clicking the CONFIGURE button on the bottom side of the box . then click the window mode and set the resolution.
