A common misconception but the answer is "No."

Science is about testing, observation and using the results to find the evidence that supports the best model to describe reality.

The purpose of scientific research is to expand our understanding of the reality that exists around us.
In order to do that, one must observe the properties of reality, then determine a workable theory to model it.
The reason for this is because nothing can ever be "proven."
There will always be room for correction and doubt.

You didn't need to make a thread on something like this you know, there is no room for discussion since you state it as fact, thus it's not a discussion in your eyes, it's a debate.

Educating.

If a member joined this forum talking about using ePSXe and dumping his Nintendo GameCube BIOS on it- You would correct and educate him. You would try to tell him that the emulator simply doesn't work that way.

If he got all upset and accusatory and insulting you- claiming you were insulting his viewpoints and such- you would probably show him very little tolerance.

The discussion in this thread would be that- clarifying for people.

You act like that's a bad thing or something.

It's a bad thing when your using a gaming forum to preach, also you made this thread with the express intent to continue the flame war you started in another thread, again, it's only education because you say it is, this is more along the lines of preaching than anything.
