:D Nice thread, does anyone remember that Wrestler "Glacier" from WCW ??? For some reason I just remembered him and I was wondering if anybody else did either. :D

Yeah it is a shame but i guess they couldn't keep the momentum up. Oh well i still got the great memories and thats enough for me. All things have their greatest eras stone cold will always be a legend. Loved all the stuff where he would fight with Vince and stuff.:D

liked old wrestling when stone cold, The Rock, Undertaker, D-Generation X, Kane,Sable etc were at their best. Todays wrestling get boring so I don't watch anymore :/

If you're going to watch the WWE today just watch Smackdown. it's way better than RAW. They actually put on good matches and the stories aren't crap. Maybe pop into TNA if you want. Don't watch it myself. But the best wrestling is in Japan or ROH.

I stopped watching wrestling after the attitude era. The Monday night wars kept the stories interesting. Now there is no competition for WWE, so they can get a way with putting out a crappy product...there is no other franchise to change the channel too.

TNA doesn't have the budget to compete with WWE, thats how Christian left. Vince probably offered him a title run. That was why Christian left WWE to begin with.

TNA doesn't travel much and their storylines aren't that great.

IMO TNA left what was getting them a name (fresh talent that was hungry for a chance) and became too concerned with getting marquis names that had problems with WWE...

There really is very little to compete.

They don't travel so there is no venue competitions.
They have only released one video game so they are just entering that market.
They don't share timeslots so there is no competition.

They compete with the WWE like a mom and pop corner store competes with Walmart. The managment knows they are there, but unless they push themselves into the national market more, they will just be a sideshow.

My point exactly.

The attitude era was also the time of the Monday night wars. Once WWE bought out both WCW and ECW in one move, they no longer had the need for as high of quality storylines because if you were a wrestling fan, there isn't anything else to watch. Monopoly at it's finest....atleast for a national market.

At the risk of sounding like an old git,I think wrestling was best during the 80's.In the era of Macho Man,Andre the Giant+Hulk Hogan in his prime.
I have a massive video/dvd collection going right back to Wrestlemaina 1.;)

I'd say it started going down around 2005 or so. It was crap for a few years. And it's started picking up recently. With the exception of RAW of course. But with the new people going there it should help. But the point is that it's getting good again. To a certain extent. It may not be the Attitude era, but it can make due. The Attitude era is never coming back and they had to get something new. If they kept going that way it was going to get repetitive real quick and you'd be bored out of your mind with it anyway.

Now a days, to keep it running. They must add some twist for eg. His wife betrayed him, his brother betrayed him, won a belt by cheating and what not.

I guess they have to make a fake story, other wise no audiance or no t.v subscribers.

Hmmm don't really watch it now to be honest maybe give Orton ago i think he was better as a good guy they've got it the wrong way round. I also thought cena's rapper thing was better and rappers are always bad it worked well.

All wwe needs to do is give some other people title reigns. The wwe championships are losing prestige.

Yeah for sure, Have they actually got any new stars. They seemed to be just throwing out anyone. They would then get rid of them within a few weeks when i was watching it. I liked matt morgan when he came on he was gone in like 2 weeks.

Angle got picked up in Penn for possession of Human Growth Hormone, violating an order of protection on his girl friend, and driving on a suspended license Sunday. Wonder how that is gonna affect things. They usually push people to the back burner for a couple months when this stuff happens. Look how many times Randy Orton got bounced around and suddenly dropped out of the story for a couple months.

To me WWE now is not as exciting to watch as in the past. Alot of the great wrestlers are already not in the industry anymore ie chris benoit, eddie guerrero, rob van dam, stone cold, the rock. Personally i feel tt the golden era is over.
