ePSXe Saving issues

I have tried to save and I've used the beginner guide to look but I still can't save Digimon World 3. When I exit and come back it doesn't have anything in the memory cards and the game says the file can't be found.

I'm saving in game. Should I do that or what?

go ahead and use the F1 button to save and F3 button to load. i'll look at the compatability list...

hmm, it says, Digimon World 100% Perfect , i'm not sure how else to help you

Ok I think I have to make a backup of the memory card for it to save. I heard it makes a temporary file only when you save. And I can't use the save states really (except to cheat on training) because when I'm done I still have to restart all over if I cut it off. I read the manual thingy and it said a bunch of stuff about PSX RAM and programs like that and it said they were vital.
