is it really hard to play roms on mame?

is it me or is it hard to find a proper working rom file. i went and downloaded five different ones off of romnation and none of them worked. what can i do?

You probably either
A. Are missiong .bios files
B. Downloaded defective roms, or clones without the origional
C. Are lying to us for personal gain.;)

I suggest going and downloading the NeoGeo bios file, especially if you downloaded any Metal Slug games.

Then again, maybe you just downloaded some defective old 3-D games that don't work.

When I download Mame Roms I download all the versions of the game, since sometimes you never know if another version of it has the bios that one didnt.

Yeah, occasionally (lots of the time) when you download MAME games, you get clones that won't work without the origional. Sometimes it's really hard to find the originals. I had a rediculously hard time finding a non-clone version of Gauntlet.
