I have a PS3 controller that I use with PSX and works fine. I read the tutorial with xpadder that is in nearly every google link but a) can't figure it out at all and b) it's outdated.

Can anyone who has done it succesfuly tell me how to do it?

Speaking of NullDC, I'm also wondering if there's a way to completely get rid of the scratching sound? I changed the buffer rate and it's much better, but it still scratches during loud noise and music which is pretty annoying.

1xpadder.

It's pretty simple, what you do is pretty much map your keyboard or mouse to the controller, i really can't explain it better.

In nulldc, you can turn up the buffer rate to max to get rid of it, but you risk getting slowdown.

Anyway, why nullDC1.0.3?
I uploaded nullDC 1.6 for the very reason to get rid of the need for xpadder, also it seems to run a little better than 1.0.3, 1.6 has controller support, 1.0.3 is the beta test version.

Ok so I tried out 1.6, the controller seems to work and no sound problems.

My only problem is setting up the analog stick and the graphics appear to be a bit more pixelated. I edit the digital up, down, left, up buttons by pressing the corresponding buttons on my analog, but for some reason the buttons begin to work on their own and appears to go haywire :/

Also for the graphics, would it work to put the graphics plugin from the beta version?

No idea, you can try it.

As for the controller, i had to configure it just right, it was a pain in the rear to do, i'd suggest double checking, since they are very sensitive.

Seems to be fine, I checked the pluses and minuses so that appears to be all fine. The problem is that it works without me even touching the analog.

you either have some seriously worn out joysticks, which is likely because the ps3 controllers seem to wear faster than the older ones. or you need to center them in your control panel controller settings. i accually use one of my ps3 controllers on epsxe and love it and posted instructions to set it up yesterday here
