probs with my ePSXe emulator

first off is there a way for me to close the emulator to where the music isnt still playing once its closed? another this is how do i save my progress in a state? like what i mean is save it to my computer and not in the game it self.. plz help anything would be great.

Do file exit and save states are in their own folder.
