Just wondering if there are any N64 emulators that can emulate the analog stick well, I am using Project 64 at the moment with a USB adaptor controller and playing with that but it seems like my manual aim can only aim left, right, up, down still even with the analog stick and it's really sensitive. Are there any emulators that have an analog setting? Hopefully someone can help.

Thanks,
Ryan

Increase the deadzone from the controller plugin.

The increase makes it super sensitive and still doesn't fix the problem of analog controls unfortunately. Have you had a go personally? I'm playing Perfect Dark at the moment so I don't know whether it's just that game but like I said, the control is basically left, right, up, down, without top left corner, top right corner, bottom left corner and bottom right corner, know what I mean? The sensitivity is fine at 0% deadzone but the controls when I manual aim are frustrating (thank god the game is predominately auto aim.) Thanks for your reply by the way :)

Why don't you try using the mouse?
Use N-Rage input plugin. I can't find the web page of the guy that made it so I uploaded it on file send. http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=5ba049f6f6f76b1a392a21f41b15679d
With that plugin you can use a perfect dark gbc game to unlock the special features of the 64 game.
Read the readme, there is a suggestion on how to set the controls for perfect dark.

whoa no try not to use the mouse...though that'd be funny if that's the level of insensitivity user wanted

Change controller plug-in to N-Rage's DirectInput8 through Options/Settings....

from controller config set the Real N64 Range option to modify sensitivity

I thought PD used the C buttons to aim. Giving you only four possible directions.
Nevermind, you probably were talking about other games. Carry on.

Ahhh thanks for all the advice guys!! I will try it ASAP and let you know if it works. :) Appreciate all the help, that was awesome.

and Kendathu, yep the game isn't unplayable you can still get through easily with it's auto-aim but if you want to go for headshots and everything in manual aim it's impossible with the current analog settings.

This looks more hopeful. I changed it to the controller plugin you suggested but now it doesn't recognise the control, even if I press the Analog button underneath my controller and reset the emulator. I ticked the box saying 'Plugged in' and it still doesn't recognise my buttons when I try to set them. Also tried the other controller plugin again and everything works fine so it's not my controller. I'm using a PC controller (that looks like an Xbox one) and plugs into the USB port.

I'm not sure; different plug-ins have different support for devices.
Most people report lesser issues with controllers for other consoles or those related to recognition but not failure to act.

The option to use N-Rage's plug-in when you change those through Options/Settings... reads the file ($Project64)\Plugin\NRage_DInput8_V2.dll if we use the one bundled with Project64.

This is an older version shortly before work was abandoned. There is a professional overhaul that has added a lot of support and fixes to problems.
Upgrade from 1.80 to 2.00+ through this file.

When the DLL is in the Plugin folder Project64 will let you change to use it.
