I don't know. I wondered the same thing. I can't really see too much of a difference between soft-deletion and closing.

Basically, soft delete means that the post is deleted so that it won't be publically displayed (only moderators and admin can see it), while physical delete means once the post is deleted, it is deleted forever. I gave all moderators soft delete permission because if someone accidently, or made a mistake deleting a post, he/she can bring it back.

I guess this is reasonable. I amy not be able to delete obnoxious posts and threads from my view, but what's important is that CoolROM viewers can't see them so it appears deleted completely. The only reason why I would want to completely delete posts is when things happen...things like what happened in the Best Nintendo 64 Emulation thread in the PC Gaming/Emulation forum. Remorse and admin can see all those deleted spam posts. I can drag the scroll bar down, but I sometimes feel impatient. But patience is learnable. I used to suffer an era where I deleted files on a floppy disk I needed for school. I accidentally formatted one just to text if Win98 would warn me first, and it didn't. Tried to stop it, too late. I cleaned the thing out every quarter of files when there wasn't a major problem with disk space.

Anyway, as for the FileSend website, I just don't feel any corrections. Except for one minor thing.I have read and agree to the TOS.I'm not sure if that's really correct. At first, I thought it had to be 'agreed' instead of 'agree' for it to be correct. But now I see that it is not required to specify what 'I' have read; you can say 'I' have read and nothing else. On the other hand, this usage tends to be confusing, and I don't think it's grammatically legal to say 'agree' because this can be mixed with a verb usage, and it shows more directness to use 'agreed'. Other than that unnecessary forget-I-just-said-it point, I can't think of anything.

I have read and agree to the TOS. That line is not nearly confusing enough to be made a case of, in my opinion.

Of course it isn't...except, perhaps, for some learning disabled readers like me. But even I have the reading to understand that. I was just saying, while he's at it, he might change that. Grammar does tend to symbolize web professionalism. Still, that statement may not be grammatically incorrect, so like I have just said, it was more like a just-so-you-know worthless correction. Although if it were me, I would apply the change just to be safe.

Icono: I see where you are getting at. The sentence "I have read and agree to the TOS" is grammatically correct, at least to my knowledge. In order for it to be grammatically incorrect, it has to be "I have read and have agree to the TOS". In this case, the "agree" should be changed to "agreed". "Have" keeps read in the present tense, while "agree" is also in the present tense. Anyways, enough grammar talk - are there any other things would you like to point out about FileSend? ;)

Yeah, I guess it is.

There's not much. The website was done quite well. Many websites have too much Flash advertisements or imaging done in them, and others have too many navigation bars (one to the left, then another to the top), but this one's kept nicely simple.

Although, I have now thought of a suggestion. I think it would be good to add a login for FileSend. This way, you can view a list of the files you uploaded. Sure you can create your own text document and keep track of things there...or FileSend could keep track of them, when they were created, and the last time the file was downloaded. It would be optional for users to have an account; they can upload either way. But if they use FileSend frequently, they can have a list of the files they've uploaded viewed if and when they login. There may not be much more than that, but to me, it seems worth having a small login for. Even so, forgetting the links to the files you've uploaded isn't that big of a deal since the file will just get deleted soon anyway, so maybe FileSend is fine the way it is.

I mean, yeah, there's a little bit of small pixilation in the middle of some of the imaging, but that's not much to worry about.

Admin, can you make it so that we can view the top 100 downloaded files? Megaupload has that on their website, but it's for premuim only. :( Just a suggestion. :)
Oh, and if you can possibly make the time limit for deletion more, it would really help. I'm not sure how those types of sites work, but why can't you just make it to 30 days? Do you need a bigger hard drive for the server or what?

I have already set the download limit to 30 days :). Thank you for your suggestions - I will definitely take a look into them.

If the files hang around for 30 days, then potentially unwanted files may be taking up space when no one is going to download them anymore. However, if admin has the space, it is a nice thing to have....

Thank you admin! :D
That's a pretty fast site you have too. It already is better then Megaupload. It's faster and the time limit and space are the same. If you advertise more, you can really get more people to upload from it. The biggest upload site that I know, besides premium accounts, uploads about 800MB. It's Megashares, or at least I think that is the limit. Anyways, if you can get more space steadily, you can become the number one 1-Click Webhoster. :D

Maybe you should think of asking the people from snesorama to have that link up there? There are lots of people that upload/download there. It would really help you out IMHO.
