i run project 64 myself and resident evil plays pretty good for the most part...although the movies dont work right and sometimes the speech is messed up but it plays good...all i can say is to make the fullscreen resolution a bit smaller for instance...800-600 or smaller....that usually allows the game to run faster by taking away from the sharpness some...other then that i really havent figured out a way to make some games run better if any other questions email me or post

True do that and see if it works, if it doesn't I think your computer just can't play N64 games very well. You need to have a good video card and sound card, my computer can't play them all that well to.

alot of times my pc wont play them right either..and theres a list in pj64 manual that tells all known games that work on the default plugins at the time it was made...and it tells of the games that dont work with it and that have issues...to make my pc run the best i use this method..i go to msconfig in the run box...and i disable all startup programs...then when i restart my pc i open the taskmanager and end all proccesses that i dont need and i usually run at about 65-70mb virtual memory which is pretty fast...that helps pj64 run much much better because it drains virtual memory alot

if you have a problem with pj64 go to www.emutalk.com and click pj64 and post your problem there

yea i got 1.6 too and RE 2 the sound doesnt work for the character voices...its seemingly a common problem on lesser model pc graphics...i run a compaq presario...2.0 Gigs proccesor....96MB of ram.....and a SG3 pro savage graphics chip that runs direct 3d very well

When I first downloaded the game I heard the voice but it kept making a loud beeping sound like every 2 seconds. I figured it would fix itself (it didnt) and so I turned my emulator off and it didnt have any of the sounds at all. Such as the character voices, the opening movie and so on. Also my screen is incredibly small like half the size of the window for the emulation. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with the sound.

Actually, these are the recommended settings for emulating Resident Evil 2 for the Nintendo 64:

Emulator: Mupen64
Plugins...
Graphics: Glide64
Audio: Azimer's HLE Audio v0.56 WIP 2
Input: User preference
RSP: Project64's RSP plugin by Jabo and zilmarNote: The default wrapper that comes with the Glide64 plugin download is known as Hacktarux's wrapper. It is recommended that, for this game, you use Zeckensac's wrapper instead. Download it here (http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/archive/GlideWrapper084c.exe), and install 'Glide3x.dll' by replacing the existing wrapper with that file.

You want to use Mupen64 to emulate Resident Evil 2, so download and install Mupen64 from here (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/n64/mupen64.html).

As for the plugins, I'll give you a link to all of the plugins you need.

http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=577fc2a9067849ebcd19f6655109c660

Open the zip archive once you've downloaded it. In it, you will find four DLL files and one EXE file. Copy the four DLL files to the Plugin subfolder of where you have Mupen64 installed. Extract the EXE file and run it. If it asks you where to install to, install to the same directory you have Mupen64.exe stored in. Overwrite any existing files.

Once you're ready, open Mupen64. Press Ctrl+S to change your plugins. Set your graphics/video plugin to Glide64, your audio/sound plugin to Azimer's Audio HLE, and your RSP plugin to the plugin named RSP emulation plugin. The input plugin is up to you. If you want, you can use Project64's input plugin, Jabo's DirectInput. But to use this, you will need to copy the file Jabo_DInput.dll from the Plugin subfolder of where you have Project64 installed to the Plugin subfolder of where you have Mupen64 installed, if they're not the same thing.

Once all that's done, time to test out Resident Evil 2. Does it work better?

Well, I downloaded it but never saw those 4 files the 3 DLL and the EXE. Well, now what?The FileSend link? Open the zip archive. The files are supposed to be inside of it. Open it like you would a folder.

Well, when I download it, It just asks me what folder to put it in and I put it in a certain folder of mine. It never asks me what files I want to extract.

When the file finishes downloading, do NOT SAVE the file to disk, OPEN it. Just open it right away, don't save it.

It isn't working? Why? What error message did you get when you tried to play the game?

None...It just has colored lines across the screen. That shouldn't help much...wish you could see what I see.

OK, double check with me. In Mupen64, choose the Settings command from the Options menu. There should be four fields, one for each of the plugins you are using. So, what are the plugins you're using?

DonIkaika

Video = glN64 v0.4.1
Input = N Rage's Direct-Input8 V2 1.82a
Sound = Azimer's HLE Audio v0.56 WIP 1
RSP = RSP emulation Plugin

Use Glide64 as your video plugin. So change the "video" option to Glide64 WonderPlus.

No problem. You got any other emulation issues, post away. I'm the master of emulating the N64 on these forums, so I handle N64 questions.

There is one more emulation issue left in this game. Some objects appear right through other objects. There is a way to fix this.

Click this link below:
http://www.zeckensack.de/glide/archive/GlideWrapper084c.exe

Click Run in the File Download prompt. When it asks you what directory you want to install the file to, install it to where you have Mupen64 installed. Overwrite any existing files, and complete the installation.

When it's finished, now try emulating the game. Should be slightly better.

Ok, I will do, So I was wondering do you know any places to get Super Mario?

Iconoclast
10-26-2006, 08:09 PM
That is a question asked many times. This site, for legal reasons, could get in trouble for hosting a Super Mario 64 ROM. It is also likely it could get in trouble even if I told you right here where to get a Mario ROM of any kind.

So, I'm afraid I can't help you. I was desperate in search for one, myself, Google searching for it. It took me a long time to find one. I can only say, keep trying to Google for it. There are some sites that provide it, but I'm not allowed to tell you which.
