Ok, I have MAME32 and have downloaded Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2. lol, and yes I have the chd file. Anyway, both games work, but KI2 plays slow on certain stages. The best stages are TJ Combo and Kim Wu.

My CPU is 1.70GHZ. Should it really be faster to play these games? Killer Instinct isn't bad except sometimes the sound hiccups. The gameplay is perfect though, so no big deal.

Would more RAM be a solution to my problem or do I just need a faster CPU? I really don't know a whole lot about computers, so if this is just a dumb question it's not meant to be.

Thanks!

Occasional hiccups would suggest ram - how much memory do you have in your machine and what OS are you running?

I'm using Windows XP and I have 1 GB of RAM.

Have you tried yet in another pc?
I mean many games (rom games) not all but yes some, don´t work very well.
Remember that these games are free, and perhaps for to be new, it is reasonable that some stages work slow.
I have a windows 98 OS.
And here I couldn´t play some games, like jurasic park (arcade game of sega)
Because the game doesn´t work correctly.
So, if you think that perhaps your computer is the problem, why do not try in an interet café, or in another computer more fast than yours?

^ Very good point. My friend Turbo encountered this with Marvel vs Capcom 2 on Chankast. He was thinking it was his computer yet he posted on the thread where he got it from and it turned out he wasnt the only one, others were complaining too, was the rom in the end.

Killer Instinct is known for slowing down ocassionally, best thing to solve the problem is to download the U64 emulator. It is written for the sole purpose of emulating Killer Instinct, and that's what it does, and a lot faster too, that is :).

U can get it www.emuasylum.com :)...

Thanks. I downloaded the U64 emulator and KI2. It runs faster. Much faster. lol, is there anyway to slow it down a bit? It runs through the post match videos a tad too quickly. If not though, it's cool. I get to play it again and it's free, so no complaints either way.

I have always found those games to be slow too I played them on my old PC (piece of crap, 512mb RAM,pentium 4 processor)
Played them on my new PC (2GB RAM, Pentium dual core DUO) and they are still slow

One thing to make sure of when running any emulator is that all other applications are closed. For example, things you wouldn't think of like Firefox can suck up anywhere between 200,000-400,000kb of memory at times.
