1. Super Mario Bros.
This game set the standard for all video games. It was cutting edge at the time and it was the first game that had a solid storyline that gave gamers a purpose to playing a game from its beginning to its end.

2. Tetris
It is the king of puzzlers. There's no other game that's more complete in gameplay and design than Tetris. If there's such thing as a perfect game with no flaws, Tetris is it.

3. Pac-Man
This game was special because not only was it one of the first arcade blockbusters, it was the first game to appeal to casual gamers as well as the hardcore. Plus, it's still playable in the arcades today.

4. The Legend of Zelda
The first game with a real adventure. The Legend of Zelda was the first game where exploration, puzzle solving, and a epic storyline was introduced in a game.

5. Dragon Quest
Not as popular in the west, but in Japan, it's the most poplular franchise of all time, even more bigger than Final Fantasy. Also, Dragon Quest has senority over Final Fantasy since it was the first J-RPG styled game that was made.

6. Mario 64
This game truly took 3D gaming to the next level. The only game that surpassed this game was none other than the creator, Miyamoto, himself when he presented Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Still, Mario 64 is the first of its kind as a full 3D platformer that set the standard for ALL 3D games that came after it. i have this game on my computer

7. Final Fantasy VII
The first game to present fully-rendered CG cutscenes and it was the RPG that set the standard for the next generation. It was also the first game that felt like a cinematic experience as opposed to just being a game. It was truly one of the most revolutionary games of all time.

8. Doom
The first, first-person shooter AND the first game with a extreme violent content. It's funny how FPSs and violence goes together like Forest Gump & Jenny, like "peas & carrots." You can't have one without the other.

9. Street Fighter 2
What can I say about this game other than saying that it was the most influential and amazing game of its time. Every liquor store, arcade, or casino game room I went to had longer lines on it than a roller coaster ride at Six-Flags. Okay, maybe not that long, but you get the point. This is truly one of the best games of all time.

10. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
As mentioned before, the only game that toppled Mario 64 is Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Even till' this day, no matter how good the graphics, technology, or CG cutscenes a game has, NO GAME is able to surpass or topple the masterful design of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. The only game I think that can be better is the upcoming Twilight Princess, but still there's no denying that Ocarina of Time will always have a special place in every gamers heart.

CONCLUSION

That's my list inspired from Gamepro and EGM. Any game I missed, feel free to disagree with me. Or agree with me. Either way, these games ARE definitely the best there ever was or to ever come.

It's exciting because the list will grow and grow. BUT.....I don't think no matter how many years into the future we go....NO GAME will ever surpass the top 10 games that are on this list.:D

I think U missed the original Mario Bros. that's not Super Mario Bros. This Game alone brought the entire industry back to life after the big 1983 industry crash, this Game should be first on the list. If it wasn't for this Game Gaming these days would have been a lot different.

U also missed the original Legend of Zelda for the NES, it was the very first Game to use a battery RAM save unit to be able to save a Game on the cartridge itself rather than storage via a code.. It's all too common these days but back in 1986 this was revolutionary...

In his thread starter psp pro wrote Quote-That's my list inspired from Gamepro and EGM. Any game I missed, feel free to disagree with me. Or agree with me. Either way, these games ARE definitely the best there ever was or to ever come.-Quote
So Kameo (even though she needs no help from me I'm sure ) was well within her rights to make the statements she wrote without getting flamed on.

I thought was a pretty good list with one minor discrepancy.
Doom wasn't the first FPS but it WAS the one that everyone went ga ga over and got the FPS ball rolling.

By saying that youv made your self equaly as anoying as kano. We no that she was within her rights BUT if you look around some of the other threads then youll see what we mean by annoying. She writes essays of rules when some one does soemthing wrong, she thinks shes a admin and in all honesty the site was a more friendly plae before she came here. In other words **** off back to that EA fourm you came from.

My only problem with this list can be found in the first sentence, "more bigger".

As for content, the list looks good.
