I don't really like how it's 3-D, or at least not that much. It's harder to find items, but it might just be me used to the older versions.

I just got Homm IV, I thought I could play it but it seems I need the original exe. Isn't there someway to create one? Or do I need to find someone with the game and copy it off of him?

I do have the game the whole game. When I installed it however, someone must have planted a crack instead of the original .EXE file. I heard somewhere that you can generate a new one, but IDK how to.

Hmm, even I don't know that one. Where did you buy the game, anyway? I would expect no one to implant a crack on a game in the store....

I bought it off of the internet.... Why would you need to know that though? :nono:
Anyways, do you have this game, or any other Homm game ? it is quite good, even though I can't play multiplayer because of the updates thing.

And I kind of agree with you on the harder to find stuff - I found the environments overwhelming and a bit confusing at first. Harder to get your bearings. But after a while you get used to it.

I've asked around, I might get it by tomarrow, hopefully. I want to try Homm 4 before I start to play Homm 5 though. Looks pretty nice so far, I'm downloading the expansions right now.

Does HOMM4 have a hotseat multiplayer option? I know that HOMM2, HOMM3, and HOMM5 do, but I'm not sure about the fourth one.

P.S. And I never tried with the first one.

Check out www.celestialheavens.com for some good maps... One of my maps is there, but it's 100% crap and don't play it, just download anything by Ururam Tururam or Veldrynus, they're the best.

Yes it does. I have HoMM4 with both expansions, but I must say, neither one was worth the purchase... The original was good though. And there's a lot of good maps for download on the internet.

Oh, thanks for that link. :) But how do I get the hotseat option? This is the only thing that appears when I click multiplayer:

I tried updating it, but it won't let me! Maybe I have a version of bad updates?

I haven't got it installed right now, so I can't tell you very accurately how to hotseat, but I'll try...
On the screen where you set the difficulty, there should be 1-6 boxes by the player names you can check or uncheck. One box is checked by deafult, if you check another box player 2 will have control of that player.
If it's a singleplayer map, there will only be one box.

Oh, and you're not supposed to click multiplayer if you want to hotseat. Just start a game like you do when you play alone.

AWESOME! Thank you! Finally I can play this game in multiplayer. :D A heroes game is the best when you play multiplayer, IMO.

Draconic? Haven't played that yet. But I have played ever single Heroes of Migh and Migic game! But I don't play HOMM4 and HOMM5 that often. But now I will. :D

Oh, okay. I'll try that out once I learn the basics of HOMM4. I'm still used to HOMM3.

Yeah, well, Draconic is not easy.

You should know that heroes are a bit overpowered in this game. A level 20+ Barbarian with maxed out combat skills and a few potions of immortality can take out a bunch of Level 4 creatures on his own, and the max level is 70.

Many people have complained about the potions of immortality, because they make high-level heroes with combat near unstoppable.
