Well my favorite soundtrack would have to be either DQVIII or Chrono Trigger.

There are so many games with exellent music its hard to choose just one. But if someone put me in a headlock till i told them it would have to be Final Fantasy Tactics. Just for kicks the next closest one would have to be FF7 or 8. Still cant make up my mind....lolz..

Crazy Taxi or GTA Vice city. When I listen to music I want to hear some Rock N Roll.

Yeah, Crazy Taxi had some cool tracks, but there are 2 different versions that have different soundtracks (I think they are American and European, but that's just a guess.) One has Judas Priest, the Offspring, and Bad Religion. The other has all of its songs from I10Q. I personally prefer I10Q.

I've never heard of I10Q are they a big band in Europe?

The American and European versions of Crazy Taxi, as far as I can tell, both had the same soundtrack featuring The Offspring, and Bad Religion along with the option to play your own Cd's while playing the game. i10Q is a music consulting firm and are not themselves artist.

oh, I thought they were a band because all the songs seem to be sung by the same person...

Then I don't think the band(s) is\are listed in the credits
It just says "all music provided by I10Q"

also, the pc version had the different songs, not the console version

Well...i like the song what have action, like the ones of Megaman X series or Megaman Zero...and i like the ones from chrono trigger too, there are some funnies ones, like that one what plays when you fight Spekkio (the "master of war".....lol), but my fave is the one of Megaman Zero 2 of the opening stage, where zero is in the desert....i don't know it is like it fills me whit a lot of energy, it's strange it makes me feel concentrated and powerfull:D
i have it as mp3, i keep listening to it a lot, for example in this moment im whit the winamp opened and in the list are just games songs and there is the one of Megaman Zero 2
oh and i like too the ones of Golden Sun, in special the battle song! it rox!!!

I have the CD of that soundtrack from the LSSC Game for the PSX. My old D&D group used to listen to it sometimes when we were playing. It does have some great tunes on it when played in the right setting.

Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, man. I think it's there in the NES games too, and the handheld Zeldas. You know, the classic zelda soundtrack... Other than that, I prefer Final Fantasy music.

Games that focus too much on the soundtrack:

EA Games

Particularly the sports ones and the Burnout series

They are still good, but there is much music on the disc.

Erm, lets see: I think its a tie between Valkyrie Profile and Xenogears, both have awesome tunes.

I am a huge Rob Zombie fan, so I have always liked the soundtracks for Twisted Metal 3-4 and Nightmare Creatures 2.

Yeah, FF6 has some awesome tracks. My favorites are the Boss Battle theme, Relm's theme and the Kefka battle theme.

Actually, FF6 is the only FF game I've played that I didn't like the music for. I liked the FF3 boss battle music.

Mine are Chrono Cross and Xenogears. Both musical scores are composed by the same artist. Guess that's why they both sound terrific. :)
