This game rocks. Pizzaman gave it to me, and it is just really fun. So, I have developed this site as a way for anybody who likes this game to talk about it and brag about stuff and such.
Also, does anybody know if there is a way to emulate the link feature of the GBA?
P.S. Iconoclast, I put this here because we are talking about emulating a game on the PC. If you have a problem with it, move it, but the way I see it, if you were emulating another console on your XBOX, it woul dgo in XBOX emulation, so if you were emulating something on your PC, it would go here. After all, how could you emulate a PC? If it is gaming though, like on the console, it would go in that thread. Like playing NES games on an NES would go in the NES thread, if there were one. Playing NES games on an XBOX would go in the XBOX thread, again, if there were one. That is my interpretation.

Yeah you guys check this game out. Maybe we could even make a tournament to see who has the best monster.

There's a thread in Emulator Support, I think it was titled "n64 emulator help", that I argued about the purpose of the forum. Kameo convinced me. Now I want to be Console Gaming/Emulation moderator; I know little about games on PCs and stuff. I thought it was for emulating video games on PC. It made sense to me! But I believed Kameo. But you know what? Why should it matter so much, I concluded? PC Gaming/Emulation could be BOTH for all we know. There is no factual answer for its purpose. It is what they call a qualitative observation; it's purpose should be whatever an user (not A user, who's the dipstick who invented that?) believes it is. We want to be happy on these forums; why have a strict rule about it? So I'll leave this thread here.

Huh? I would say it would be optimal in handheld emulation due to we are talking about emulation of a handheld device. But, I must be completely stupid to think that. Forget it. We needn't be strict about it, anyway.
Hey, pizzaman gave it to me, too. Not my style, tho. Maybe I'll play it on a rainy day.

I wish Iconoclast would believe me more often. I kinda (I said kinda so you wouldn't attack me for saying my stuff) ended it by PMing admin to check it out and end it if he had the time. I was arguing the same thing as Kameo, but you, for some reason, treat me like I am always wrong, sometimes. Like when you said my 'bullcrap' comes first. You aren't helping anyone there. You're just insulting me. Not good for your PR. Not to mention the time you dissed my rhymes (which I rarely bust anyway) which sparked an argument that was completely unnecessary and stupid and disrupted the thread. It was my partly my fault because I over reacted to said dis, so shame on me!
Hey, do you know what? English is a wierd language, if'n you hadn't noticed! It has spawned phrases like "an hour," and "a user" and "their" (even though i goes before e, except after c), all of which are correct, but are illogical. You see, english has these things called "exceptions." All better? Good.
PC emulation is for, OMG MEGASHOCK ROFLMAO, PC emulators. I.E., DOS emulators, Mac emulators, and Windows emulators. These emulators can be used to do stuff like run programs that are not compatible with your regular OS, like DOS games. For example: DOSbox is a DOS emulator, so it would go in PC emulation. Spiffy, yes? Now I await to see how I am completely wrong.
Sorry, I seem to be sarcastic today. I apologize, guys. I just wanted to clear some things up. I'm sorry if I am wrong. You said we should work as a team, so let's take your advice and do so, instead of wasting our time fighting each other.

Hey guys. I'm happy you are making conversations about some other thread that I didn't read, but that isn't really what this thread is about, so I suggest we start talking about Monster Rancher. Has anyone besides me and FD actually played this game?
Nope.
...Hey, at least I was on topic.

At least someone is, CM! :nono:
Lol, no I'm just kidding, but you should really try this game out Kurt. It's okay, the one for PS2 is way better though. Oh and CM, I'm sorry I just ignored you like that. Next time I'll put in some smart remark too. :D

Nope. It could fit in handheld gaming, since we would be gaming handheld stuff. Not nadheld emulation. That would be like when you use your PSP to play SNES. So it could go in Handheld Gaming or PC Emulation, where PC Gaming would mean like Fable or something.
Anyhoo, back to Monster rancher stuff. Pizzaman, post some screenshots of your dude and his stats. I will too. today or tomorrow. Not sure yet.

Quick question: Where would PC emulators (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/computer/) like DOSbox go? Admin already said my point was right, but I see your point. But then PC Emulation would be enormous and the others would be almost empty; especially Arcade Emulation, which was designed for MAME and Zinc and stuff on the PC.
Hey, let's tell various words we used to spawn the monsters!!!!!!!!!
Fierce Deity
06-29-2006, 12:01 PM
Yes, that could go in PC suport or something. we'll iron out the detail later. I have to go now. I'll be on tomorrow, or maybe later today.
Sorry for the interruption, but I have to put in my two cents on the whole catigorification thing. I think Handheld Gaming And Emulation should include things like Visual Boy Advance on the computer and emulating games on your PSP. I think Computer Gaming And Emulation should have things like Dosbox and maybe the occasional misplaced request for technical emulator support. I think the Arcade Gaming and Emulation should have things like Mame, Kawaks, Neorage, and Zinc as well as people who have actual arcade hardware issues. I think Console Gaming And Emulation should include both the emulation of consoles on the PC and emulating other games on platforms such as the Xbox. See what I'm getting at?
And I'm going to get that Monster Ranchers game some time today, I swear!
Fierce Deity

I agree. It is becaus eof the gaming and emulation. It is pc emulation, but it is handheld gaming. That is why it could go in either. I only put it in this one so Iconoclast could move it to the other one, if he so desired, and then it would be his idea that would be why it was in there. Because I couldn't really decide. To be honest, the topic titles are a little vague.
Anyhow, that isn't what this thread is about, so back to talking about Monster Rancher Advanced 2!

Looks like you guys are making really "on-topic" posts. Anyways, here is my first guy that I made. I had to freeze him because he was going to die.

I used Fireworks and alt+print screen to make it, as fraps doesn't recognize GBA as a gaming dealie. I playe dthe game for about 6 days straight. I was very very bored.

I borrowed a game akin to this a long time ago from a friend named Ethan. It was mildly addicting. When was this game made?

Actually there are 3 for PS2;

Monster Rancher 4 ( It's pretty good )
Monster Rancher 5 ( IDK much about this game, but it's pretty new. )

Do you mean the joker? I just trained him a lot. My first monster got old, and I turned him into a coach. His stats were about 300-500 in everything. He was cool. I have Dragons and Durahans and Galis and joker's and monols and zans. They ar eall legendary monsters. I still don't have phoenixes, raidens, or doodles.

That one I posted was my first monster too. I made some mistakes though, like I accidentally feed him meat a couple of times and I didn't realize I made him obese. But how did you max out all of those skills in 3 years? How much did the skills go up every time he trained?
IDK if this will help, but here you go, they are two walkthroughs for the game.

Nah, I know how to get the other's I just haven't done it yet. I am taking a reprieve on furthe rmonster ranching. well, do to my awesome old monster as a coach, he went up like 25 in his main stat, and like 9 in the sub stat. He went up like 30 and 14 if I got a GREAT. If I sparred, I got like 40-60. It was cool. I had to buy the large barn for 80,000 G to keep a joker though.

How good is Monster Rancher 4. I got my brother into MR advanced 2, and he says he'd buy for or 5 if they were good. So are they better than this particular game?

Well the best part is the adventure. If your monster is good, you can go through the levels as far as you want. You can get items to sell, and even find saucer stones that you can use to regenerate monsters. At the end of the game you go through "special" adventures, and when you get to the end, if you win the battle with the final boss, you get a saucer stone that can regenerate rare monsters. Monsters that are like Garu/???. However, the real best part is that you get monsters from DVDs and not from random words. You can put in a PS2 game and get a monster from that.

Most CDs just give you one type of monster. If you don't have any DVDs though, you can always get monsters from the game itself. This version has a book too, so if you get a monster once, you'll have him forever.
