This is taking a previous post a little further, to the ultimat ShowDown!
Who's it gonna be People? Feel free to state your reasons why.

My apologies for misspelling "master chief" in the poll question!

I think... Samus. You can't argue with random artwork, dammit!

Reasons why:

Have you ever played Halo multiplayer? Master Chief is slow as hell, whereas Samus has a an extremely fast dodge that can avoid bullets. One pistol-whip to the back will kill MC, and Samus can fall in lava and not die immediately. Chief can be killed by bieng run over with a vehicle called a Warthog, similar to a jeep. Samus can get run over by the end boss from Metroid Prime in it's first stage (the last boss' first stage, that is) and it won't even take away an energy container. Aran's smash-forward attack from Super Smash Bros Melee alone could wipe Master Chief's smug attitude away (not to mention his head being totally caved in from the punch).

Yes, I agree with Kurt, but they are from different gaming universes. It is like asking 'who would win in a fight: Goku (DBZ) or Sam Fisher (Splinter Cell).' In the Metroid Primes, you can be attacked by several monsters and not be in any danger for up to even a couple of minutes, provided the enemies aren't too smart and powerful and you have some energy tanks. The energy tanks make it so that you can calmly walk into almost any situation knowing that victory is almost ensured, as long as you don't mess up too bad. Though, in Metroid Prime Hunters for he DS, this is not true and survival is much harder, and the characters (including you) do not die for good when they are defeated, but rather are returned to their ships somehow. Some of the time, though, Samus is overpowered, what with the unlimited power beam, wave beam, plasma beam, and ice beam ammo and hundreds of missles (Master Chief can only carry 10 in a clunky external rocket launcher that reloads slow), enough energy to survive thousands of attacks/bullets (which can be fully recharged for free at save stations and your ship), and visors such as scanning, echo, dark, combat, thermal, and x-ray.

Master Chief is a bit weaker. He has 'unmatched reflexes' and such, but he has more limitations. Master Chief can only take a few shots until his shields are down, and then only a few more before he keels over in death (but oddly springs back to life when launched into the air by a grenade and such.) Master Chief is more fragile, and he can't withstand tons of metal pushing down on his body. He also has very limited ammo capacity compared to Samus. The only weapons he can use are the ones he finds after his 100-200 bullets he came with are expired. However, such limitations give the game a sense of mortality (well, more then Metroid mostly), as you are in a big world and your life can be ended quickly if you are not careful. I like such games better, because there is less thrill in being relatively safe from death even in the midst of a large battle with enemies on all sides. Though, Metroid's enemies do sometimes present a real challenge with weapons potent enough to present a problem. Another example of this is James Bond's "Everything or Nothing." In that game, even on the highest difficulty, Bond is capable in being shot continuously by high-powered rifles with no problem at all. He can even take a SPAS 12 shotgun shot to the chest point blank and just get back up and continue fighting. Yet, if you do the same to your enemies, they will be killed very quickly. If the margin of power between the player and the other characters is too great, then the game won't be as thrilling and you won't feel as much of an adrenaline rush. But, I digress.

So, I think Samus would win, but I don't think it would be a fair fight.

I pretty much agree with CM, but I want to add something. The Halo games are ridiculously easy, even on the hardest difficulty setting. The Metroid Prime games pose somewhat of a challenge (to me, at least). So by that logic, Master Chief is overpowered yet Samus (who is apparently underpowered) would defeat him. It doesn't make sense logically, but it definately appeals to my illogic side.

Wow, you guys have made some great points here.:)
theres really not much I can say now.
All I know I that I say if You put Samus and Master Chief in a Room, then Master Chief is Screwed. I say Samus would be on him like a Pack of wild dogs on a three legged kitten. Just like the Picture above!

A little off-topic post from me:

If you literally mean "the picture above", Darthbrady, then you just compared Beavis and Butthead rocking out to Samus Aran ****ing the **** out of Master Chief. That rules so hard.

You people have me convinced. Fine, I guess Samus would kick the hell out of Master chief... Unless he teamed up with Jesus and Michael Jackson.:)

Master Chief, genetically enhanced supersoldier. His powerful Mjolnir armor protects him from a substantial amount of weapons fire, and, as a Spartan warrior, his years of special training raised his abilities to an extraordinary level. Equipped with various weapons, Master Chief was able to single-handedly take on an alien force known as the Covenant.

But alas Samus has a robust power suit, capable of many different forms. The blaster attached to her arm allows her to fire several different beams and missiles. Her suit allows her to roll into a ball to squeeze through tight quarters or make a quick getaway.

It's a tough decision but my vote would go to Master Chief. Simply because I like his whole attitude and his arrange of many dangerous weapons. Ex.Energy Sword, Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle.
