What are your favorite games on the Genesis?

My favorites are the Sonic the Hedgehog series for its classic (and at times difficult) platformer action. The last couple of levels in each game are usually a real challenge.

Of course Sonic, but for the sake of saying something different I'm gonna say I definitely loved the Streets of Rage series, and the first ToeJam & Earl was sweet too. I also loved Gunstar Heroes.

Eternal Champions and Mortal Kombat for me. When EC first came out I was blown away by just the overall atmosphere of the game and the challenge kept me coming back time after time. It has great graphics, an innovative ( for its day ) fighting system and it also has some of the best music -I've- ever heard in a fighting game and that includes the next gen titles of today.
Flash back:Quest For Identity. Phantasy Star 2 and 4 have to get mentions as well.

I really liked Shining Force for Genesis fun RPG. Maximum Carnage and Mortal Kombat were great for the Genesis especially Mortal Kombat it was just easier to figure out moves.
