Project 64 recommends atleast 512MB RAM, your games will probably lag with only 128MB, not matter what your settings.. I don't know how you stand to use a pc running XP with only 128MB, I think 256MB is recommended. I think you can get 128MB RAM for around $10 or 256MB for $20. That plus the 128 you got would make quit a difference. newegg.com is the best place to get stuff like RAM.

You can run XP on 128 but it's pretty laughable if you have slower say PC 133 SdRam. You could use more ram and you eed to ditch the onboard videocard and grab yourself that's at least a 128 card with for pixel shader pipelines and fast clock and memory speeds. If you can, grab a 256...I imagine you have an AGP or AGP Pro slot on your motherboard.

The 2400+ Athlon XP is the rough equivalent to the 2.4 GHz Pentium 4. It runs at 2 GHz though. The AMD Nomenclature measures TerraFLOPS rather than clock speed (Terra = Billion; FLOPS = Floating Point Operations Per Second).

Your processor should be able to handle Project 64 easily. The rest of your PC needs some upgrading though.

Your computer is not very good, speed is fine but everything else not.
I reccommend you to get that AMD (whatever) 64, 1GB or more RAM,
a kickass video with at least 0.5GB of VRAM. Don't settle with AGP,
get PCI-E.
If you don't want to get a new computer then try to upgrade it or
remove XP and install Win98SE - You'll get a very nice increase in speed.

...and what dream world are you living in where everyone can afford this system?

Get as much RAM as you can afford (at least 512MB) and get a decent 256MB vid card and you would probably be set to go play PJ64. Also removing XP and going back to 98 is a massive step to try to squeeze some more RAM out of your system, just go to Control Panel>System Properties>Performance Options and uncheck all the boxes under custom. Also run msconfig to prevent any unnecessary programs from running at startup (this usually makes a huge difference in performance). For around $150-$200 you would and changing some of you settings, you would have a decent system. Definitely not top of the line, but enough to last you until the things TµEE mentioned take a drop in price.

Of course if you have a couple grand burning a hole in your pocket, then by all means get that system *drool*

I didn't think they made a better video card then a PCI-E with 512 RAM? Is yours from this planet?

U don't need a high end PC to run PJ64, especially not a superiour GFX card. I had good graphics on my old 4MB Matrox GFX card so getting a 256MB one isn't necessary at all. My current system is a 1600MHz AMD Duron, 512MB RAM with a 64MB GFX card and I can run PJ64 at full speed. I bought it for the sole purpose of emulating the N64 and it does that just fine, all those specs U R naming there R unnecessary if U want to play N64 on Ur PC...

nope; it's from Japan with a gig video card RAM stuff

True, you really don't need a 256MB card, but to me I'd rather put more $ into a vid card to also be able to play higher end PC games as well as emulators. PJ64 recommends a 128MB card, but if you planned on only using the pc for emulation like Kameo does, and disabling some of the bells and whistles of XP that a 64MB card would work wonders. No matter what you do, get more RAM. Running XP on 128MB is just sad. At least get another 128MB to make it 256MB (128MB RAM is only like $12 for cheap brands)

Of course really, all this is pointless cause the guy that posted this thread hasn't logged on in 15 days.:(

Yep, I looked em up, they exsist. I'd love to have one (who wouldn't) but in my opinion to pay $1200-$1500 for just a video card:confused: You must have more money than brains.

I reccomend grabbing the most and fastest ram your board supports. According to you're processor I'm guessing PC3200 (DDR 400). Since you have probably have an AGP Slot. You really want to get off of that onboard video card. They're useless for gaming and geared toward running business/office desktops.

If you can could you post the brand and model number of your motherbaord as that's way more important for us to know that.

Please folks, this forum is for PC support, and Infamous really seems to want to only upgrade what's necessary.

You don't need a powerhouse to run PJ64 and your CPU will do fine as I stated in my previous post.

Feel free to help answer questions but don't just throw out meaningless information. It doesn't help the person asking the question and it doesn't help the integrity of the forums.
