I think to play at home, you either need a wireless network in your house or you need to buy a special wireless thingie from nintendo.com which will convert your high-speed connection into a wireless network. You can also go to a wi-fi hot spot like a McDonald's or your local library. I think there is a map on nintendowifi.com (or some such url) that will search for wi-fi hotspots near your current location.

I have Nintendo Wi-Fi so your in luck. Go to BestBuy or Gamestop and the the router. Then put the router in the UBS slot on your computer. There is a disc in the box. Then put the disc in your computer. Go through the installation process. Lets just say you were playing Mario Kart. Turn your DS on and go to Mario Kart. Then go to nintendo wfc. Then go to Nintendo wfc settings. Then go to connetion settings and hit "Connect to your Nintendo Wi-Fi connector.". Then press a and it will test you connection if your connection is ok it will put you back it the settings page. Press B and hit Wi-Fi
match then pick if you want to serch friends, regionaly or worldwide. Pick and then it will search for players. then when you get players you will start the race!
