This might sound stupid, but the Google toolbar has a popup blocker. Try getting many pop-up blocker toolbars running at the same time. Still, some pop ups cannot be stopped.
Right now, I have the following pop up blocker toolbars running:
Google toolbar
Bit Comet toolbar
Alchohol 120% toolbar
Maybe that will help. I think google does the best, though.

I would imagine you have adware. Buy a virus program. Or run the one you have. and by run, I mean have it do a system scan. Otherwise, just peruse your files, looking for anything with a file or extension named ad, adware, or extort. Anyhow, the search feature in your start menu will help you find file names, but not extensions.

Anyway, what pop-ups are you getting? Do they all look the same or are they completely different?

Spyware Quake is actually a very Dangerous MALWARE TROJAN VIRUS, masked to look like software. I had it, and went through hell to get rid of it!
Then a month later, I contract the virus's twin, know as Spy Falcon
I have had 19 customers get the same viruses. I have tried every program you can imagine, and there is only One peice of software, that will stand up to these trojans, and I recommend it to all of my customers, and still have a 100% positive feedback on it. It has even made my job a little more boring, as I dont get all the calls I used to to fix viruses/spyware.adware/malware.
The program is made by PC TOOLS, INC. and is called SPYWARE DOCTOR.
I advise you to get it ASAP! they also have many other great softwarez, not to mention winning many awards for the software and its engine.

What browser do you use? type of internet connection? firewall? plugins?
Are Lan Manager hashes disabled in your registry?

I wasn't recommending it, if that's what you were thinking. Anyway, I'll check out Spyware Doctore (SPYWARE DOCTOR?) as soon as I can find it. Is it free or subscription-based?

Nah Bro, I didnt misunderstand you.:)
I was just sharing my similar experience with it, and recommending the software.
But to answer your question, no, its not free. You have to purchase the full version. However, they will let you download it an scan your drives, but it wint clean/fix anything until you buy it. But its totally worth it.
