Just wondering if anyone had an answer to this (real answers please, no made up guesses :) ), is there someplace I can sell modded systems? I'm thinking about selling my modded saturn with tons of burn't games and controllers but have no idea where to sell it. Ebay obviously won't let you sell it.

Now wouldn't you know, ebay is being a bunch of morons again. I was selling my psp and they removed it because they said I was selling "illegal" things. Hm lets see here... besides the hardware and accessories I listed, I put and it comes with homebrew applications and emulators. I did not mention roms!! seriously ebay, you guys are idiots. Anyways..

Here's what i am selling in the saturn lot:

Sega saturn system (modded), 2 controllers, action replay cart (plays imports, has preloaded codes and cheats, memory card, and 1mb/4mb ram), and burnt games (which is about 35+ games or so). I'm looking at around $80.00 for everything.

Let's say I wanted to sell something that did not meet ebays rules, but I sell it on ebay anyway, minus the details about modded hardware. Would I be allowed to post here the information about the mod's and shoot a link to the auction on ebay so people can buy it?

Well, if I had to guess, I'd say useing the site to sell sell a modded system cant be too illegal, but selling it with backup game copies/burned games, would be pretty illegal. And its pirating, in the worst form. These games are free for all on sites like this, and anyone can download a fullset of saturn ISO's from torrent if they look for it.

So why use the sites that give us these treasured roms for nothing, to turn around and sell them for a profit.

Look Man, I got no prob with you selling your modded saturn on here. Hell, If i had a little dough to burn, I'd give ya $60 for it, without the burned games.

BUt selling burned saturn games is just wrong. Trading them, maybe, but not selling them.

To be honest, I'm not selling the games, I'm INCLUDING the games that I have already burnt to cds. I mean what will be the point of me keeping the games if I do not have a system to play on anymore? The $80 tag is for the system, controllers and adapters the modchip installation, and the action replay. I guess I should have made that more clear, sorry for the misunderstanding.

BTW, if anyone wants to buy a 1.5 firmware PSP to play homebrews and emulation and such on it, I am selling mine on ebay. look under the name "xerowing".

I have a Saturn too :). It comes in the box and with the cables and everything :). No Games though :). I'm not selling it, I'll give it away to anyone who likes to have it :). U gotta pay for the shipping though :). Please note that this is a PAL version ;)....

Just don't have time anymore to play many games like in the old days. So yeah, just trying to sell it and makes some money off of it.

Look at it this way. Whoever buys the system is going to download the games, burn them to a cd a play them regardless so I am saving them the trouble of doing so. The law only sees it one way? Then why is this site still up and running explain that, everything we download here is pretty much illegal. Like I said, price tag I mentioned is for system alone, anything I include beyond that is free. It would be like going to a store, buying a "buy one get one free' sort of deal. I am not selling the games period because you cannot get them without buying the system and I am making no profit off the games. If anything, I am losing profit because of the cds I have used.

Then lets do this shall we? I am selling the system and includes for $80.00. The games are an option to have for "free". or just don't take the games at all.

Stop downloading Games, if even if they R 35 years old, or DL PD ROMz only before U preach next time. Makes no sense at all, it does make look U a bit stupid though, but that's just mine opinion...

I understand, and thats a great point.

I guess all I am really trying to say is this:

In my opinion downloading free roms from a site, and selling them on a rom site is wrong. It just seems disrespectful to the site. CoolROM doesnt make a profit of the roms I download, so why should he?

And according to the american judical system, there is a BIG difference between DOWNLOADING a Rom, legal or not, compared to SELLING downloaded roms. About a 10 year felony sentence for bootlegging of a difference.

And if you sell a system, and the roms come with the system, than guess what, in a courts eyes, you are selling the roms too. whether you say they came free with it or not. Bottom line is, if you sell it as a package, (system and rom CDs) than you buy it as a package.
Just ask the ESA or any console vendor like Ebay.

I will download as many roms as I want, legal or not. But I just wont sell them for a profit. Call me what you will, but I just think its disrepectful to the sites that give them to us all, for free. And its actions like this that just do nothing but hurt the future of the emulation world.

Not tryin to cause a fight here either, but my point is the cds will be usless to me if I keep them that's all.

I do understand the laws and blah blah blah, but I'm not purposely tryin to break them either, just wanting to give the games a happy home with the system.

My pricing on the system is what I thought was fair compared to how much I purchased it for, and like I said with no intention of making profit off the games.

I just get paranoid about this stuff, ever since I seen the FBI courtesy of the ESA ruin my friends life over doing this stuff a while back.
I have seen their wrath, and I just never want to see it happening to anyone again.

And yes your price is fair, I never disagreed with that. Haggled maybe, but never disagreed. Saturns are getting rare, so make a profit if you can, but me, I just cant sell my systems. They are like a part of my being, Hell I love them more than my girlfriend, and she knows it. She will go before they ever go. LOL

well.. I'm hoping to get atleast $300.00 out of it. I really need the money right now to pay off some stuff and I think the price is reasonable for what I am throwing in. Like I mentioned in the lot, everything is in brandnew condition as well. If anyone here is willing to pay $300 for it all, I will end the auction early.
