To me the best manga is One Piece, the best anime is most likely Full Metal Alchimest(complete). If you haven't watched FMA I highly suggest it, one of most deep and touching stories ever. It's in no way cliche and the twists and turns have you on your feet throughout. The same with One Piece, too good of a manga to miss out.

Some other mangas that are also very good include:
Bleach, Death Note, Monster(complete), Slam Dunk, Hunter X Hunter, Flame of Recca, Kenshin, Berserk, and Blade of the Immortal. For people that liked Full Metal Alchimest try the manga version too as it splits off somewhere near episode 20 and the story is different.

I have the entire Dragon Ball collection-series and movies-but only a couple of the books.
I also have pretty much all of the DBZ-Series and movies- but they got kind of sloppy at the end and I lost interest. I still watched all of the movies but I didn't bother to buy them or the DBXT or whatever it was.

I really liked the Vampire Hunter D movies and always wanted to get some of the books but for some reason I never have even though I've been told that they are some of the best. I'll get around to it some day.

And that's it. I'm sure I would like a lot of the Anime out there I've just never been exposed to it and wouldn't know where to start or even what would be good/fit my taste.

Really, I've only ever been truly devoted to four series: Dragon Ball Z, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Trigun, and of course Full Metal Alchemist.

P.S. I said 'of course' because a LOT of people like FMA.

Yes FMA is a very good serious, I got hooked right away on it :). My other fav's are:

Full Metal Panic, Ah! my Goddess, Love Hina, FF7: Advent Children, Princess Mononoke (Mononoke Hime), Inuyasha, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Sonic the Hedgehog (SATAM not the Adventures), and I'm sure there's more but I can;t think of them atm.

FMA is a great show. It's hard not to like. OThers like Berserk, Gilgamesh, and Hellsing are great. I am yet to see trigun but i want to.

Ahh FMA...decent but ive seen such random blots, i dont know what the hell is happening. But Rouroni Kenshin, and Ninja Scroll...ohh ohh Akira too. Those are old but they are sweet. But I can't forget what grabbed my attention...DBZ! old and corny also, but a solid base nonetheless.

Onegai teacher, Onegai twins and this series which is the msot saddest depressing aniem ever. I was literally crying my eyes out lol. It's called Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien. I also like Dragonball Z.

Full Metal Alchemist is the best anime ever. I loved it. It is sorta wierd if you don't see all the episodes and see them in order. But if you do it is great. That's why I downloaded them all. The end sorta leaves you hanging though. So I downloaded the movie too. Also leaves you hanging, but to a lesser extent. I really hope they come out with another, happier ending. Damn nazis....

My other favorites are: Trigun, Coyboy Bebop, Samarai Champloo, Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT, Yu Yu Hakusho, FLCL, Outlaw Star, Wolf's Rein, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Witch Hunter Robin and Inu Yasha to a lesser extent. Inu Yasha was good for a while, but then it just started getting really cheesy, and it seemed as if they were dragging it out and just generally making up stuff. It got to where you knew what was going to happen, generic bad guys, etc. I just stopped watching. I'm pretty sure I know how it would end though....

Most anime on [Adult Swim] is pretty good, save a few like Blue Gender, Alexander the Great (which disgusted me, with their revealing armor...how could that possibly stop any weapons anyways? Their skin was so exposed!), and another anime which escapes the memory right now....

favourite anime- definately bleach, naruto, gungrave, full metal alchemist, chrono crusade, mai hime, ouran host club, full metal panic and honey and clover!! dbz came to repetitive after the freeza saga!!
manga- naruto! altough its beginnig to get alot like dbz!!
