Holy freaking smokes. These HVD disks are more then ten times as big as my HDD. Computers are devolping way to fast. I bought this one in a store seven months ago, and they said that this was they best one they had( 320 GB HDD ) now computers are coming out with up to 750 HDD. Soon I'm gonna have to spend more money to get a new computer, or get this one updated. Does anybody know hot many HDDs I can hook up to my computer?
Look at this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_Versatile_Disc) article.

Look at this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holographic_Versatile_Disc) article.I saw something like this in Gizmodo some time ago. It looks awesome, but it's not going to be affordable for a long, long time.

How many HDD's? depends on your motherboard and how many IDEorATAs it can have installed, but if you want to spend some money, get a scuzzy or a raid or a hot swap, and the sky is the limit.
My motherboard has 4 ATA HDD ports, and will support like 350GB per port stable. But I can go higher, I have a PCI-Express x1 slot, so with the right card, there is no limit to how many HDDs I can have.

That sounds awesome. So there's no limit to how many HDDs a computer can have? I might add one, or maybe two, but for now I'm good. When blu-ray disks come out I might need a bigger one for movies. :D
They found a way to copy blu-ray disks already! I for got who, but someone( Like Sony or some other big company. ) said that it was impossible to copy movies from it, but they found out how. Do you know the Prt Scrn button? Well I'm not sure if they the program, but they're going to make a program that'll copy every frame back to back. It'll probably take a hell of a long time, but it's a start( For BD coping software I mean. ).

I might have missed it, did it say how much they would cost?

Let me make it easier to understand.
There is a limit for how many HDDs you an install to your PC, determined my your motherboard.(normally 2 to 4 HDDs)
If you have a new PC, that has a PCI-Express x1 slot(not x16), than you can add a "Raid", or "SCSI (scuzzy)" or "hot swap" card to the x1 slot, which has plugs on the back, allowing you to hook up as many as you can afford, and just swap the HDDs whenver you like. These devices often look like a metal cabinet or something, with "drawers" that are actually interchangable HDDs, you could get the card, and a 5 bay hot swap cabinet, and just change HDDs like they are floppy disks!
--get it?
As for Blue ray being non-copyable, thats crap.
At E3 this year, sony was showing a "Blue-Ray demonstration" on a PS3, when a reporter ejected the disc; only to find out, that it was recorded onto a Plain DVD-R!!! It had "blue ray movie rip" written on it in marker. A sony chairman admitted it was true, it was a blue ray dvd ripped to a plain DVD-R.
You guys didnt hear about this?! it was like sony's biggest screw up of the year so far. People walked off the sony booth at E3 and it spread so fast(the news) that they're booth remained almost empty for like 6 hours:D

Lol, that's funny. I know that it wasn't true, I mean everything has a back door, you just have to find it. What I thought was funny, is that they already found out a way to copy them, even before they came out, or at least not official films.

Actually, I should have mention tat the said DVD-R, was a copy of an official Blu-ray movie disc on of the only 5 or six currently available, some thriller/horror movie I cant remember the name of it, i lost the article.
But MGM, the company that owned the title, filed suit the same day against sony for copyright infingment! hahahahaha! i love it! they are settling out of court, as sony knows they cant afford a lawsuit since PS3 will only be afforable to the rich and famous, and nobody else will buy it but rich *******s. lol

Uhh... anti-Sony rant over.

Must be your connection. I wish I had Comcast or something, so I could get more stuff. Hard to fill up an HDD with dial-up.
Hey, what is the average cost for a HDD like yours?

usually HDDs cost 1 buck per GB, so around $250-300( People like to make the price a little smaller so it looks good. )

Well it's usually a little less, like I said.
Take a look at these (http://accessories.gateway.com/AccessoryStore/PC+Accessories_316441/Drives+_A1_+Storage_316507/Hard+Drives_316513/Default.htm).
If you get one off of ebay, you could get it for $.50 per GB.

I bought both of my 250GB disks for 89 Euro each, not that expensive I'd say :).
Oh, 1 Euro is 1.24 USD, if it is still today's exchange current :)...

Yes it is, and it's also a very good deal. Where'd you get a HDD for so cheap?
