The least you could have done was specified the damn game you need help with or whatever.

This is the worst thread title ever. There should be a rule about crap like this.

Welcome to the forums Cognaic Jack. Can you please provide us with more information so that we may assist you - like the game you are trying to run, the emulator you are using, etc? Also, a more informative title would be nice as well.

Yeah, we kind of know what game you're trying to play, and with what emulator. A general rule, though, is don't unzip the ROM files. Most (all?) emulators can't read unzipped roms, so you have to leave them as they came.

Also, I changed the name of this thread to something I felt was slightly more specific.

Are you serious? All my ROMs are unzipped, and they work fine.

I tend to get in mood swings in case you haven't noticed.

But to be on topic...I thought it doesn't make a difference if the ROM is zipped or not. Or at least, I'm pretty sure for the N64 it doesn't. I mean, aside from the fact that some emulators don't support zipped ROMs. I just keep all of my ROMs zipped. Fierce Deity and chaos master keep them unzipped, though. They don't trust my opinion enough to try it out.

99.9% of the emulators can read zipped ROMz just fine, they have no problem with it. But U can unzip them if U'd like, this will only use up more space on Ur HD.

If U extract MAME ROMz they will not even work :p....

But this is the arcade forum, so it should have been obvious that I was talking about arcade ROMs, most of which are absolutely required to be zipped. Besides some of the BIOSes and CHDs, that is. Anyway, why did you revive this topic?
