Okay, since General Chat has a high amount of posting traffic, I thought I would explain the criteria of spam there that I will put into effect starting now. GC is supposedly for talking whatever you want, just like the description says. Also, chat is sometimes held at a rapid pace, where the posts are relatively small in size. This might make spam hard to define, so this is what this post is for. Threads that you might not find important to yourself might be important to others, and are okay. For example, a thread about collecting pennies might seem worthless to you, but it still is okay. Also, I like to let posting get just a little off topic for a short time, to make posting there seem less strict. For example, in a thread about food, the conversation might sway to cooking for some reason. I suppose it is okay if a couple of posts, in part or in whole, were spent finishing that note before continuing with the main conversation. If the other conversation persists, the other users must make a new thread to speak about that or have their posts deleted. You might not think this happens, but very frequently do users get off topic, which is why I'm being a little lenient with it to help give our users some leeway and making their stay in General Chat more comfortable.
---------------------------------------
What is spam/unacceptable:

- rapidly posting nonsenical or meaningless things on a thread
- being too off topic for a prolonged time
- flaming, disrespecting users(non teasingly), bullying, cyberstalking, etc.
- reposting the same message over and over
- starting fights
- rascism
- severe elitism
- posting pornographic or adult images
- making indecent threads/posts (i.e. cybersex)
- making ads
- making duplicate threads
- generally being a douche
- needlessly bumping old threads - UPDATE - 'old' means inactive for more than 4 months
- double Posting
What is not spam (acceptable):

- Talking about unpopular views or subjects
- Just talking about unimportant things
- expressing your views (as long as they are not intended to hurt anyone)
- chatting

If you have suggestions for this list, PM me (http://www.coolrom.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=27).

-----------------------------------------------
General things to remember:

- Don't use uncensored profanity. It is not my idea, it is admin's, and he's the boss. If you use it, you must censor it with asterisks like so: **********. However, it seems that minor cursing is allowed (i.e. damn).

- If you are posting a link to something that may be a little mature (like PG-13, not R or such) you must show that so that our younger visitors know not to go there. Again, you can't post links to pornographic materials or other such things.

- This is a chat forum, not a support forum or ROM Request forum. For example, don't make a thread about Project 64 graphics plugins here, put that in Console Gaming/Emulation or some such. Don't request ROMs to be added to the site here. Do that in ROM Request. So, if you want to talk about something related to games or emulation, chances are that there is a more fitting forum on the forum index. Take a look and see.

- Don't make ads.

- Have fun; it's a chat forum.

-The moderators and admin can override this list if need be; the list is not perfect, anyhow. Meaning, you can't use the rules for loopholes and stuff like that.

Questions? Comments? Suggestions? PM me! (http://www.coolrom.com/forums/private.php?do=newpm&u=27)
