Which Arcade Emulators do you use? Why?
Darthbrady Here.
I am getting into Arcade Emulation Now, and I am curious to see which Arcade Emulators(and versions!) and FrontEnds you guys use, and what they are good for.
Here's what I am using, I use them because to be honest they are the only ones I am familiar with:
-EmuLoader Frontend. (newest version)(has a really nice GUI)
-MAME i686 version (newest version, and old version 0.69)
So out with it people! teach me something I dont Know about Arcade Emulating!

MamePlus, Sega Model 2, and Zinc are the best for the mostpart. Some games are only Emulated in Nebula also so you might want to look into that.

Well my first experience was when my sega cd died 5 years ago.
Iīve enjoyed a lot of the FULL MOTION VIDEO, like nigth trap, tomcat alley and others. When playstation 1 arrives to my country, I felt that with that technology why ps one doesnīt have any full motion video games.
Fact I am waiting a game with live persons in it.
I mean I would like to see a game with this new generation of consoles, a game that do not use any graphic by computer. I would like to see real persosn for play the game.
So Firts I have KEGA FUSION, next GENS, after that I got M.A.M.E 32 ver
b-3256v296
And I am so happy with this because I loved to play a lot of arcade games like RYGAR and RASTAN that I couldnīt finish when I played at arcades.
I have now S-NESX9 for play s-nes games.
Regards.

Full motion video would have to be(in my opinon) the worsst thing to happen to videoogames. Its when either instead of computer generated images or(if the game really sucks) actual graphics, they use recorded videos with low resolution and sucky acting.
Also for arcade emulators u should use the latest version of MAMEplus it ca play kof2003 and SvC. also if u bother looking ala Goggle, u might find a version of mameplus with kaillera(netplay).

FMVs are great! (IMO). They are something I always look forward to at the start of Final Fantasy games. They don'talways use voices and the acting... Erm.. do you know what FMVs really are? The amazingly-graphical movies in games that are computer generated (not real). FF games have had this from FF7 onwards. The start of Super Smash Bros Melee had an FMV showing all the characters before the start screen. A LOT of FMVs never had voice-acting. Only now are there more FMVs with voice.
EDIT: Here is an example. This FMV is the starting movie of FFX and is really cool! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0KadocXeGE&search=Final%20Fantasy%20FMV

Same here, MAME32, there's no need for something else. Well, unless U want to play a handful of Games that run a little slow on MAME. But I don't care about those so it's all good for me like this :)....
