Hi friends.
I would like to transfer some video films in VHS format to VCD or DVD.
I have WINDOWS 98 OS, and I would like to know what kind of hardware and software I need for to begin to transfer.
Also I would like to know what kind of grapich card or sound card is the best for to transfer my videos.
I have heard about PINNACLE system, but I need more info.
Could some one teach me about this "transfer of material"?
Thanks a lot for the possible help.
Regards.

You need to buy a video card with a RCA or coax input. Once you have that it's just a matter of plugging your VCR in and recording :)

Can you do that with a S-Video jack, or a TV tuner?

I have a S-Video out jack, and I have a NVIDIA GeForce 6200 video card. Or at least I think, I'm sort of new to this sort of stuff, and I want to learn more about it.

Try using a capture card, it'll let you copy anything displayed on your television straight to you HDD.

Then you can't record - Output will just send you video to another display device. It Outputs the signal.
You'll need a video input to send the VCR signal into the computer and pass it through some recording software.
