If anyone wants a working Apple IIe emulator with a few Rare games, just let me know by PM, and you got it!I grew up after it's time had come, but dude, that game was so awesome. In my old school we had like 2 old apple computers with a math game, called something like Math Blaster, and Number Munchers. I swear to god, if there are any smart people in the world today, they must have played that game at one time or another.

Now Playing: Warcraft III: TFT. I get bored easily.

Currently, I'm not playing any video games. In fact, I don't emulate ROMs just to play them. If I want to play an N64 game, I would play it on my N64. I only emulate video games on my PC if they are chess ROMs, testing purposes to help another user with emulation issues, or to try and get avatars from them. I mean, I guess I sometimes play Majora'###### and Virtual Chess 64 just for fun, but I don't usually download ROMs I don't own the actual game for in real life.

Holy cheez! I played Number Munchers and Letter Munchers at my school, too! Plus Mario Teaches Typing and random smaller DOS games. No wonder I'm such a bright little hedgehog. When I got to the older grades, all we did was play Typing Tutor and work with Microsoft Office. We only had computer class once a week. But I remember one of my computer teachers being a blasted perv and asking out on of my classmates and he got fired. o.O

Anyhow, I just got done with Driver: Parallel Lines. I really don't have any unbeaten games left, so what to do?

Now Playing: Warcraft III: TFT. I get bored easily.I'm a dedicated WC player, mapper and a member of Clan Exmap. Our chiefy's the famous mapmaker rulerofiron99, he made the cinie Rage, considered one of the best at maps'n'mods.
I've only made 2 cinies, Dragon's Glizzard 1 & 2. They're both availible at maps'n'mods only, they're pretty noobish but rulero keeps claiming they have a good storyline. I'm *working* on DG3.

Right now I'm busy playing Tales of Phantasia for the snes. Awesome game, and unlike all the other rpg's it's pretty mature... really mature.
I've played for about 8 hours so far, and the f-word has been used once, and not as a swear word but as in having intercourse. That's pretty odd for an rpg...
Not that it bother's me, it's just cool.
What DOES bother me is the fights versus air units, 'cause that's when the flaws of the battle system are getting really really really really annoying.
It seems like an awesome game, but the big question is of course... Does it beat Shiren the Wanderer? Not unless the airborn enemies mysteriously dissapear as the game progresses.

I am assuming you mean the part where Klarth talks about Arche f***ing like a tiger. Anyhow, I had a problem with air enemies too, at first. Certain moves from Cless will deal with them, as well as holding, I think it is down while attacking. There is a certain direction you can hold, and cless will do an uppercut, and that works well. I had to learn it when I was fighting some Sylphs, as they were in the air, and kept killing me because I couldn't touch them.

Just for the record, a lot of games are/were changed, some significantly, when translated from the original Japanese. Part of it is due to the differences in the language and culture (things just don't translate well/wouldn't really make sense in English) and in part because the big N had a pretty strict censorship policy back in the day. Starting with FF. being one of the less censored (in my opinion) and going up through Dragon Warrior/Quest being one of the most censored series for religious and sexual themes.

On the main topic. I'm trying to finish up Fable: The lost chapters and Star Wars KOTOR II on Xbox so I can start playing Zelda OOT on the N64 ( Again )
and GTA San Andeas PS2. I got about half way through GTA SA and just got bored with it so I want to finish it off after a 6 month lay off.
I've always got a season running in Madden and usually play at least two or three games a week just to keep in practice for the real thing.

Or you could buy a Gamecube (it's teh roxx0rz) and get the real deal. NGC? It's GCN! NGC is what ignorant people say.

So, I decided to start another playthrough in Fable (the original). It'sfun to me because you can become so many different people with different styles and you can do a bunch of other stuff, as well. But I've heard other games are better. My friend played through Fable six times, though I'm almost done with my third playthrough.

Fable is an action RPG for the Xbox and PC. I probably like similarly to how Iconoclast likes Morrowind. massive spoilers ahead:

Fable begins with you as a young boy in a poor village. Your village is attacked by bandits, and your family seemingly killed, and you are taken by a man named Maze to safety to the Heroes Guild (or Guild for short), a place where heroes (either good or evil) are trained. So, you train in the Guild until you become an adult (which is shorter than you think) and then you graduate and can go back into the world as a hero. To advance the story from then on, you must get quests from the Guild. There are quests that are primary and advance the story (gold), there are quests that are secondary and just get you money and fame (known as reknown), and there are quests not given by the Guild and are secondary (bronze). So, you can wander around Albion (the country you live in, and it is pretty small) doing either quests or whatever you feel like. Your movement thruought Albion is aided by your ability to use your Guild Seal to warp around to Cullis Gates, which are basically magic warp gates put up by the Guild.

There are three diciplines you learn in the Guild: Strength, Skill, and Will.

Strength is what you'd expect. It's subdivisions are Physique, Health, and Toughness. Physique lets you do more damage with your melee weapons and hand-to-hand combat, Health lengthens your health bar, and Toughness increases your natural resilience, which makes your defense more, though you can (and should) purchase armor to go with your Toughness.

Skill's subdivisions are Speed, Accuracy, and Guile. Speed determines how fast you can swing melee weapons. Accuracy determines how much damage you do with ranged weapons. Guile is pretty unique; it allows you to be sneakier and steal stuff, but it also makes you a better trader by getting you lower prices in shops.

Will is magic. You can improve and learn many spells here. You can also increase your magic power (Mana) here.

Depending on what you excel in, your character will change. If you full of strength, your character will become very muscular. If you are full of Will, your hands and eyes will glow with your great power.

So anyway, there are extra things to do aside from the story. You can get married (and do stuff;) ) with most any girl you like, and even men, and even both, at the same time! You can get rewards from your spouse, but you must keep him/her happy and visit em very often. Also, you need a house before you can get married, which brings the next thing you can do.

You can go into real estate and buy and rent out houses/shops/taverns/barns/anything. Some houses are designed for you to be married in, while others you can buy just to live alone so that you don't have to pay the fee for sleeping in the tavern or just because. But, you can rent out what you don't want for yourself and make mega moola. In one of my saves, my guy is retired, so I made him sneak out at night and murder all the old inhabitants of the buildings, then buy them, then rent them out. The result is that I own the whole town, and I have a swanky house for my wife and I at the top of the hill. If I want money, all I have to do is walk around town (usually in my underwear) and collect rent.

You can customize your character, as well. You can buy anything from shirts and jeans to expensive suits of armor. You also can give him a haircut that you like and a beard if you wish. There are also tatoos (though they are not permanent).

There is a fight club ring that you can practice hand to hand combat if you'd like.

And then there are the bar games. At every tavern, there is a guy sitting at a table offering to play a game. There are a few games, like matching cards, Blackjack, coin golf, and a whole bunch too difficult to explain. You bet on the games, so there is much money to be won and lost. If you do lose it all, you always have the option to violently attack the man.

A big part of Fable is morality. Do you want to be a good guy, or an evil guy? What you choose will determine how you will behave and how others will react to you. Although, you can change your morality any time you want by doing good/bad deeds. Good deeds being helping people out andkilling demons and stuff. Bad deeds being killing the people themselves and just being...naughty. At the end of the story, you will be faced with the ultimate decision of good or evil. If you are good, a faint halo will appear above your head and butterflies will follow you around. If you are evil, horns will sprout from your head, you will lose your hair on the top of your head, a horrid stench will follow you around, your eyes will glow red, your body will become horrible pale and scarred, and flies will follow you around, though this does not make wooing people harder.

And you get older, too. You go from 18 when you graduate from the Guild to 65, when you complete the story. Your hair turns from dark blue to gray. If you choose to excel in Will, you will get gray hair faster.

Fable is kinda easy and fairly short, but it is fun for me nonetheless. A newer version, Fable: The Lost Chapters, has come out, supposedly expanding on the original game.

I'm going to be playing Nightcaster for Xbox sometimes when I have nothing else to do.

It's a very fun game in a certain perception, but I could see why some people may not like it. And since chaos master spent his time describing one of the games he likes, I will add a description for this game as well.

In this Xbox game, Nightcaster (defeat the darkness), the game first takes place in a sort of village where a boy named Arran lives. At the time, Arran was playing Hide and Seek with Madelyn and Lochran. He stumbled upon an entrance to a dark, very small, cavern, I think it was, and he found a glowing mystical orb. And the orb spoke to him, a female voice (sounded Jamaican or something, to me!), told him of his destiny and the evil Layman's Curse that the very incarnation of evil, the Nightcaster, had struck upon the land. The orb told him that this takes place a half-generation into the future, and that now's the chance for him to begin to fulfill his destiny. But it came at a great sacrifice of time. When Arran returned from the magical simulation, he knew wizardry and magic, but his village was dark, destroyed, and smothered by rain. He was no longer 10 years old. His friends had left, as they had obviously given up playing Hide and Seek. His parents crushed under the burning house that was his...the Layman's Curse had struck, and the Orb guided him with wisdom against the Nightcaster's downing Arran with tradgedy, and helped him fight against the evil. The quest began there.

As Arran fights through the parts of the game, reaching new levels, he grows decades older, his hair gray in the end.

Obviously, this is another RPG game. The game has a complete magical interface, and I believe the makers of this game got many of the implemented ideas from the game Quest 64 for Nintendo 64.

This is, perhaps, one of the three worthwhile games for playing on the Xbox that I have. The others are just Tony Hawk's Underground for my brother and those other annoyingly boring games.

Now, I don't want to waste all of your time explaining how to play and the different items of the game. But if any of you do get this game, you'll either tire in a sort of menacnious feeling, or you will like the game for its storybook interface and magical persistence.

Press A to have sex and save! Risk of progress possible.

Yes, you can. It refills health and mana, though it's no different than just sleeping. What happens is that the screen goes black and mysterious moans are heard. It scares the poop out of me. I don't really care for it; it's logically useless as you can't have kids. I never tried it, but it may be possible to have sex with another man. Eww.... In Fable, you can save whenever you want on the pause menu.

I think it is possible to have sex with the men in fable, I've noticed that when you near the end of the game and are at legendary status everyone in the town has hearts over the heads except for the children and a few merchants and vendors.

I'm not one to harp on other's gaming tastes, but not liking a game because it's cel shaded is probably the absolute worst reason that I have ever heard. If you don't like the gameplay or storyline, fine. Even not liking the music can be a reason to skip a game over. But cel-shaded graphics don't bug anyone who's actually played the game, so I suggest you give it a spin.

The only (and I do mean only) reason the game didn't have a wider audience is because modern sarcasm-using teenage boys thought playing a cel-shaded Zelda game would make them look immature, which is laughably stupid. It's a great game, right up there on the charts with OOT and Majora's Mask. The graphics make little to no difference to most gamers. Of course, the exception is people like pizzaman, who prefer graphics over gameplay, but those people are few and far between. If you're too unconfident in your own maturity to play a game that may sort of look goofy, Fine. It's clearly not my problem. Go back to your GTA clones.

I just happen to dislike the way it looks. Any cel shaded game looks like crap, and personally that makes the game less fun. Besides the fact that they said they were going to make it look realistic before it was going to come out and then they changed it to cel shading so I decided to boycott it completely. Plus I don't like sailing around and if I remember right thats where tingle is in a airballon giving you maps or something, and he would just give me nightmares if I played that game. Now the new Zelda game I would LOVE to get my hands on.

What really makes me laugh is that when the Viewtiful Joe games came out, they were immediately swept under the "kiddy" rug with other cel-shaded games like Wind Waker. People started actually playing them later, but for a few weeks after the first one came out most gamers literally refused to play it. Giving a game cel-shaded graphics is a pretty bad marketing move nowdays, which kind of sucks.

I'm gonna go rent Viewtiful Joe on the Gamecube, now.I have a demo disk with that on it and I tried it out and didn't like the it that much. the story line seemed wierd and the game play was de**** but ididn't ik eit that much...

Now the new Zelda game I would LOVE to get my hands on.You happen to dislike the way it looks... let me weigh that on the Scale of Excuse Validity. Nope, not good enough. The game stills and movies don't look the best, true, but the cel shaded graphics fit in very well with the actual game. The sailing is somewhat boring and uninspired, but the sea looks very cool and the ocean is an integral part of the game mechanics.

How many times have you played the game? Once? Twice? Give it a try, and you'll see what I'm talking about. I happen to dislike anime-style art, but that didn't prevent me from playing games that used that kind of art just because I didn't like the style. If it's a good game, graphics don't matter. Stop being so elitist.

I know where BlueDragonMan is coming from with not liking Wind Waker :) I'm ashamed to say this, but I let the cel-shading put me off a game that is close to rivalling Ocarina of Time, with its gameplay... for 3 YEARS(!) I actually tried it once but was too "loyal" to OoT to accept WW for what it was. Once I started playing it properly the other day, hours would go by before I was forced to switch off the console and go to bed. My bro watched me play through the whole of it. The story is great (love the plot twist ;)), the graphics go with the game (I can NOT see this game having OoT graphics at all.. it would suck a LOT), and it utilises something, not done in Zelda games before... facial expressions. They are carrying this over to the Twilight Princess too. These two (Twilight Princess and Wind Waker) are the only Zelda games to use Link's face as part of scenes, and it improves the whole experience immensely.

I really urge anyone who hasn't already done so, to give Wind Waker a go, if you ever manage to get a shot at it :) If not, I'm sorry you have missed out on one of the best games I've ever played.

Tingle is an incredibly small part of WW. I saw him for a total of maybe 15 minutes (out of probably more than 10 hours). The sailing didn't bother me. It wasn't more than a square or two before you came across a new island/miniquest. I dunno.. I really didn't find it boring

The sailing system needed improvement, especially with turning and speed. It was a vital gameplay mechanism, though, and the game would have been ****ing crap without it.

When I first started playing the game, the first thought that went through my head was; these graphics look GOOD. Not different, but good. The kid's eyes would follow you when you threw clay pots and pigs at them, the enemies heads were actually ****ing staring at you instead of randomly bobbing around, and the facial expressions on the men and women of Windfall (?) Island topped it all off. If the game had had regular graphics, I wouldn't have liked it as much at all. The graphics are just about as vital to the game as the storyline, which was also very good.

You get Iris by beating the guy who summons Charon against you in battle.

Guy you fight to get Charon. I can't remember which one that is. Did he have a bunch of orbs with him?

Both games had optional bosses that made the end boss look like a joke.

Yeah there is only one Weapon in FF6 and it only appears after you basically destroy the world and you have to encounter it randomly in the air to fight it. Plus you either have to do a certain thing to kill it or just fight it a ton of times. One of the two.

The Remakes look better....but they change some of the text....If you play the originals then go to the remakes you can tell that the text has been changed....but the storyline is basically the same.

It's also the worst FF because you would have to spend hours leveling up in one area I would imagine just to get the stats good enough to move on

If you have the Blood Sword then the end boss is a cakewalk. Slaughtering his *** is very fun. Actually even without the Blood Sword it's pretty simple. Cure-16 will save you. Also Protect will help. But don't cast Protect on the whole party. Cast it on one person each time. Provides a MUCH better effect.

Also a little tip though I'm sure you may already know, casting Osmose on the boss is the WORST possible thing to do.

YES. Want to know how?

In the Config there's a setting for the controllers. An option that looks like this.

Single Multiple

Single is highlighted. What you do is highlight Multiple and press 'A'. Then it lets you pick which controller controls which character in battle.

So only battles are two player but it is still fun.

In FF4 if you have two controllers plugged in when you turn it on then you can use either controller to control characters in battle. Just agree on who gets to use what and there you go.
