View Full Version : Absolute Must-Play Games

There are quite a few absolute must-play games in the world, let's mention some, easily accessible to anyone (no current or next-generation games, since they're not really easily accessible to anyone because a) you need a good computer to emulate these games b) You need a good connection to download the roms in case you don't own the system)
I'll try to list games so good almost ANYONE would like them, no matter what your favourite genre is.
Here goes... Punch-Out for the nes, play it and you'll see why it's a must-play game.
Super Mario 64 (I've never heard of anyone who doesn't love this game, no matter what his/her favourite genre is)
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
A Link to the Past (SNES)
I don't consider FF7 a must-play game, or any other FF game one because there are plenty of gamers who absolutely hate RPG's, while almost everyone loves extremely good arcade games. OK, I may be wrong. I'm sure CD can tell us why FF7 is a must-play game. I like it myself though.
Zelda 1 was left from the list because many gamers simply don't have enough patience to play the game, while A Link to the Past and OoT are slightly easier.
Sure, it's a matter of taste, but if you haven't played the games I mentioned... DO IT!
HAHAHAH! Play every single Blizzard and Mario (for the NES) game ever made, along with every non-****ty Zelda game. They are must-play games. I'll post a few more later.
FF I+II: Must play. Dragon Warrior 1,2 and 3: Must play. Starcraft: Must play. World Of Warcraft: Must play. Mario series, Zelda series: Must play. Goldeneye: Must play.
Anyone who has not played the Street Fighter games is not a gamer. This is a fact.

I forgot all about Street Fighter.
I really want to play World of Warcraft, I really really really want to but I haven't got the connection, the money or the computer for it... It seems so awesome!

If your computer can't support it, boo. My computer is a piece of dookie, but it has a Radeon 9800X and it can just BARELY play the game. Sometimes I get raped by lag in PVP, though.

Like I said, I haven't got the connection. Even though you can play WoW with 56k dial-up, it wouldn't be fun.

Harvest moon for the PSX should be Save the Homeland, and for the GC, it should be A Wonderful Life. Why do they call it GCN or NGC?
Also, is World of Warcraft a good game? I know nothing about it, but I know a lot about getting the programs I want. Mostly.

Yeah, I just forget because I have like 4 or 5 of those games. They're pretty awesome, but the one for N64 was the best. Second best was the one for PSX.
IDK why people say GameCube Nintendo. IT DOESN'T SOUND RIGHT! I don't really care if it's right or not, I'm saying Nintendo GameCube. I can't think of ONE company that uses it's name after the product. Sony PSP, Nintendo DS, Sega Dreamcast, ect!!!

It doesn't sound right, but GCN seems to flow more smoothly. If you want to be so correct, call it the NG. No one will know what you're talking about.
I don't see how people like the Mario games THAT much. I mean, it's just jumping and dodging and stuff for most of the game. It's the same with most platformers, though. I mean, I like them, but it gets tired after awhile.
And I don't see why everyone likes Kingdom Hearts games. I mean it has Disney characters in it along with pop music, or so I hear. Sure, it could be a great RPG (IDk if it is), but it puzzles me a bit why people so paranoid about playing 'kiddish' games (like pizzaman) would play this. Yes, I know adults watch Disney all the time. Don't get me wrong; I don't think that way, but it just baffles me how it works like that sometimes. Or maybe I'm severely retarded.
Okay, since Mario games for the NES were mentioned, I would nominate the Sonics for the Genesis. I might add more later.

I'm not crazy about Mario games, the best arcade games for the NES are still Mega Man and Contra. But Super Mario 64... It's a masterpiece, I generally don't even like arcade games, but...

I wasn't referring to anyone in particular on that one. I was generally speaking.
Mega Man and Contra require you to be an adept gamer to get anywhere.

I'm not an adept arcade player, but I try over and over. Mega Man is f**king impossible though, but it's good. Games should be hard, they all where back in the ol' days when I didn't even exist.

Are you hi, dude? I already told you what I meant about "kiddish" games, and that I was refering to games that are for littel kids! NOT Mario and Kingdom Hearts, but like Tarzan and other cheaply made games to attract kid's attention. If you didn't read that when I posted it earlier, than know you know.
At first I thought that it was going to be a sucky game, but then people started saying it was good, so I rented it. IT HAS ONE OF THE BEST STORYLINES EVER! Seriously, rent it. You won't regret it.

Are you talking about the fullset, or just a torrent? Because most GBA games are like 2 MB.

No way, the Kingdom Hearts rom for GBA is 20mb. And wtf is a fullset? And I don't download torrents, I've got no program for that. I download all my GBA roms from a site, can't tell you which.

Lol, don't worry I downloaded the fullset( All the ROMs. ) from Kameo.
I just checked my "collection" and it said that the smallest file size was 12K, and the biggest was 32 MB. That's when they're zipped that is.

I only have a fullset for NES, but it is form Kameo. It has # NES.NES at the end of every single ROM though, and that screws up NetPlay, so it gets annoying. I have been experimenting with the REN command prompt to try and fix this, but since the titles are all different lengths, it seems impossible.

So, what are you tryign to do? Just delete all of the #s in your ROM filenames? I'm not sure there's a DOS paramater that can do that.

Well, there is. I was looking in the XP help, and it says, If everything were named smitha.txt, smithb.txt, smithc.txt, etcetera, you can be like:
REN smith* smyth*
and it will rename them to smytha.txt, smythb.txt, smythc.txt, etc.
I just don't think there is a way to do this with every single file, as they have different name lengths.
