This thread is so that we can support ou fellow member, DarthBrady, who had a small heat stroke.
Get well soon, DarthBrady!
The story, as posted by DarthBrady's girlfriend:
Hi, I am not "DarthBrady", I am his girlfriend. He is in the Hospital for the night, he may have has a mild heat stroke, or came near to it. He was working outside in a 120 degree greenhouse, helping out someone. They tell me he was sweating very badly, then just stopped after a few hours(sweating)), and started drinking a lot of water then, and five minutes later, he started vomiting and fainted. He awoke witha stutter, and was "franicky" a few minutes later he started to pass out again, but they got him out of the heat, and he stayed concious, and was taken to the hospital.
I have been with him most of the day, he has mostly just been sleeping, and wakes up now and then, but doesnt say much, or is confused. But he did get it out to me to check his Emails and Private messages, which brings me here. If you know him like I do, he takes *** his inquiries very seriously, and was wooried someone may "need him", so natraully he gets me to check and make sure.
We think he may be okay and get out tommorrow, But the doctors say they want to keep him possibly for a few days, to make sure he is okay. But I can tell you this- He is in a Lot of pain, and suffering very bad headaches and blurred vision.
You know, he may not realize it, (because he stays so caught up in working and studying for his computer career) but he means everything to me, and I truly believe that I wont ever find anyone who treats me like he does.
-And it would mean so much to me, If you could all keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
I hope this in the right place to get out the message, he said this was the "happening thread"
Thank You all for listening, and wish him well with a Private message if you like, and I will print them out, and take them tot he hospital tor ead him them.

That's a shame.. I haven't really spoken to Brady, but I have seen his posts about these forums and he seems like a cool, sound guy. I hope you get better, DB. Maybe we can start chatting, after you return :p Lol.
I hope you feel better soon. My dad has had a stroke before, but he has pretty much recovered now. If you keep at it, your determination will see you through. Good luck with that :)
Just remember there are quite a few people here waiting for you to return ;)

Atleast I'm not the only getting hit by a heatstroke :p. I've been pretty sick myself but after puking, taking a nice cool shower and a few glasses of water I felt fine again :).
To drink lots of water is very important with this heat, U get dehydrated pretty fast with this weather, and once Ur body has run out of moist it's going to heat up and cook U on the inside, kind of :p.
Anyway, take care dude, U'll be alright :) ....

Hi, It's DarthBrady's Girlfriend again, sorry sorry if you are confused by me using his username, but I just came back to give you an update on him.
Today at 2 o' clock p.m., Brady spoke a complete sentence for the firsy time in 25 hours! -He looked at me and said. "Baby, When are you gonna sneak me outta here, and get me a cigarette?" -It made me laugh. I told him they wouldnt let me do that, and he needs his rest. So he nodded his head and went back to sleep. So I went to the store, to get him some cigarettes so they would be there for him when he could smoke.
And when I returned, there were two nurses approaching me, asking if I knew where he was! He managed to somehow get up and escape his room, with an Heart MOnitor machine on a rack in tow, still attached to him! They found him about 20 minutes later, and where was he? He was in the Hospital Network server Closet, trying to use a Laptop to order Pizza Delivery! But he wasnt sure where he was, so he never succeeded. They asked him how he made it to the other side of the hospital, two floors down from his room, and he answered with two words: "Splinter Cell" (that game he stays up playing I think)
Anyway, now he is back in his hospital bed, and so far he is pretty much in the same condition, only he can speak better now. But his memory is out of whack still, and he knows it, so he is still a little down, and wont eat anything, so the hospital ended up ordering him his pizza! haha. He ate a little bit of it but not much (he normally eats at least half the pizza). When he got it he told me a story about a "dream" he had earlier about trying to sneak out to get pizza.(he did not remeber that he really did it a few hours earlier)
His Doctor says he is improving a lot quicker now, and he could be back to normal in a week or so, as long as we can keep him stimulated. I hope he is right. The only thing that he his really complaining about now, is difficulty using his right hand. BUt they say that will pass too, now that his blood pressure is back to normal.
Anyway, I just want to thank you all again, for your support. It may not seem like much, but it means a lot to both him and me, to have such caring people like yourselves behind him. I will copy and print all these replies and private messages you have sent him, and go read them to him in a little while.
I will keep you all updated, he wont be home for atleast 4 or 5 days at the soonest, and then he will be resting for a while. With any luck, I can find a wi-fi laptop for him to use, so he can say hello to you all soon, just as soon as he is feeling well enough. (he cant wait to get back on the internet)
Thanks again,
~"DarthBrady's Girl" (you can call me Ginger, and yes, that is my real name)

WOW! this is amazing guys! I dont know what to say...... but thank you.
Yes, its me. DarthBrady! Return of the Sith. lol
She said she was on here, and read me a few PMs, but Ihad no idea that I have touched so many people. But not as much as this Kind Gesture has touched me.
I am still very weak, and unable to do most things. So you may not see much of me, but I will try to keep going, I really want to recover soon. I kinda "come and go" right now, I have my minutes where I feel normal, and then sometimes its like my batteries are dead and I cant function right when I try to talk or move around.
My right hand doesnt work very well, but the doctors say it will return to normal soon, as long as I excercise it a lot. (easier said than done). They actually told me I should try to play video games, using a controller is supposed to stimulate my nerves. But they did say NO Vibrating controllers. big loss(sarcasm). In the hospital I got to play pitfall on atari 2600 (emulator, of course), and got my highest score ever. like near 50,000. They took a screenshot for me, but I dont know where it is yet. I had to close one eye so I could see clearly though.
Well, thank you all again so much, it means a great deal to me, and makes me feel a little better . :) I am getting tired ( I am on a lot of Medicine right now) so I am going to get some rest, but as soon as I have the energy, I will come back, and see what I missed. Besides, if my girlfriend catches me outta bed, she will be upset (she is so caring, obviously.) she is gone to town for me, I have the strangest craving for mexican food, and she's gonna rent me Jade Empire on the Xbox. Now, if I can just recover enough to "make her happy"-lol
see you all soon, and Keep it real, I'll tell you all how it went down when I get back(what happened to me that is)

A little like I have my minutes. I am far from having high blood pressure. In fact, my blood pressure is sometimes SO low, when I stand up after a long period of sitting after taking sleep medicine, I have a hard time standing up and saying consciuos. I hold on to the walls, and I just feel like falling over, like I can't control my body. Once, I actually did collapse, but I never fainted.
But this thread is not about me; it's about you, so welcome back.
While you were gone, I learned a little bit of SQL......but what's going on right now is none of my doing, that I know of.

It's nice to see you're alright and not in a critical condition now :) Keep at those excercises! We're all rooting for you to come back 110% healthy :D
They actually told me I should try to play video games, using a controller is supposed to stimulate my nerves.
Definitely! My hands closed up 4 years ago (both hands clenched involutarily and held like that as the default position) and as much as I tried, it was hard for me to keep them open for more than several seconds. I got the idea of slipping a controller into them, and a few hours of Kingdom Hearts a day was enough to have my hands back to normal in a few days/a week ^__^ I hope it has successful results for you too!
Good luck, and best wishes with your recovery, Brady.

That's somewhat normal. Standing up after sitting has that affect sometimes. It does to me.

Brady. DarthBrady! No. I mean, when I stand up, I feel VERY dizzy and drowsy. My brain feels a sense of being numb, or is it my entire body, and then my head could just fall down and hit the wall. And when I wake up...5 seconds later...I can barely even remember what the hell happened. It all happens so fast...it's because of low blood pressure. Something changing in my blood when I stand up. I definitely doubt it's normal.
