Neo Geo ROMs

I've been downloading the Neo Geo ROMs from CoolROM, but some don't work and the contents of the zip file doesn't have rom files in it, they have bin files (Magical Drop 2, Super Sidekicks 3).

Does this mean that they need MAME to play them?

Also why is it that some of the games appear at the bottom of the game list (I'm using NeoRAGEx 0.6b) with a question mark after them? I haven't tried them all but i think they all work.

Do i need to update to the latest version of NeoRAGEx, cuz this is all i could find on the official website?

Magical Drop is no NeoGeo Game, it's Data East, this means it only runs on MAME as MAME is the only Arcade emulator that supports Data East Games, atleast for as far as I know.

Super Sidekicks is a NeoGeo Game, U probably lack the NeoGeo BIOS which is required to run NeoGeo Games, leave it zipped and stick it in the same folder Ur ROMz R in.

Note that MAME NeoGeo sets R different from NeoRage NeoGeo sets. If the problem still occurs after adding the BIOS-file U most likely have the MAME ROM, U need either MAME, Nebula, Calice or Kawaks to run them.

Kawaks is recommended, MAME is a good second for NeoGeo, Calice and Nebula R discontinued, NeoRage is outdated...

I've got 79 roms, 77 of which appear in the game list in NeoRAGE. I've got the bios because i've been playing them.

Magical Drop 2 and 3 are both in the game list and i've seen MD3 AES carts but not 2, so was MD2 MVS only? If so why does it appear in the game list?

Also do any of the emulators you mentioned run both roms and arcade Neo Geo games?
