password?

i tried todownload a rom and it said i needed a password before i could zip it. what is it

We're did you get the rom from? I don't think they have passwords on this site for the roms. And if we do, then I don't know.

Ive never heard of that? it might be someone added a music file or altered it in someway and wanted to protect it from distribution.

I always try the obvious and try "password" as the password. If that doesn't work I would say the file you downloaded was uploaded to the site by mistake. Try downloading the rom from a different rom site.

Which file did you did you try to extract? As most of the others have said, we do not password protect our files. This might have been a mistake on my part ;).

All I know is that http://www.theroms.com has ROM zip files password protected. They say the password is 'theromsdotcom'. If you downloaded from here...it's password protected. That's the only way.

Just a thought, the way admin used that wink smiley... (I don't use smileys.) he did say it might be a mistake on his part. The wink makes it look like he 'accidentally' added the password on purpose. No, I don't blame this on him; I just had a thought about how these smileys are misused.:)They sicken me. In fact, I personally think he could have gotten this ROM from that site or something like that.
