Let me explain What this thread is for.

This thread has one purpose - To make CoolROM the best Emu Site on the Web.
If you have ever Downloaded Roms from CoolROM, you've probably noticed that the screenshots for Many games are Missing. And you may have also Noticed, that ther is a link below the missing shots where you can submit screenshots for the game.
So I got bored, And found a easy way to get Screenshots for Mame Roms, from the screenshots on my Mame Frontend, all I have to do is save and resize them. And then I started submitting screenshots to CoolROM, and now they are starting to
appear! And it gave me this Idea:


This thread, is so we can all pitch in, and get screenshots for all the missing screenies, in the CoolROM "Roms" Section. I willkeep a "Master List" Here on this Thread Below, so you can come here and see which games already have screenshots submitted, so we can do this easier :)
-I will try to keep it updated, but if I lack, then mods, feel free to edit my "master list post" to update any games I miss, If you want to.

WHEN YOU POST WHICH GAMES YOU HAVW SUBMITTED SCREENSHOTS FOR, MAKE SURE YOU DO SO WITH THE EXACT NAME AND SYSTEM OF EACH ROM, JUST AS IT IS NAMED ON BY SITE AND FORMATTED AS FOLLOWS:

*Two screenshots are required for each game, one title screenshot and one in-game screenshot

*Images must be named exactly the same as the title in the CoolROM Roms section. Name the title shot the exact same, and name the in-game screenshot the exact same, but add a "(2)" to the end
example: "OutRunners (World)" and "OutRunners (World) (2)"

*Screenshots have be to saved in GIF format

*Try to keep the screenshot dimensions at around 300x300 (doesn't have to be a square) or less, without losing proportionality. So if the emulator saves the screenshot as 500x400, please re-size it to a smaller size

*Each screenshot must not exceed 50 kB
(you will see all this when you click the "submit screenshots here" button for the rom you are submitting.)

*** Do not post any games to add to the list, until you have already submitted them to CoolROM!!! ***

Araiguma RascalIn my early days as a member, I took screenshots of N64 games. But I could only do two screenshots for a single N64 game every 3 to 5 minutes, and it got on my nerves. You, on the other hand, somehow took both screenshots of all of those games in no time. Probably because you can download SNES games faster, and that being SNES games, were not hard to optimize perfectly in GIF format.

Actually, I have dial up (hopefully not for much longer), so SNES games still DL maddeningly slow. But I worked out a system so I'm downloading one ROM while I'm taking screenshots for others.

It takes me an average of four minutes or so to download an N64 game, depending on the file size. But N64 games are in 32-bit quality, and since we have to use GIF format for the screenshots, that's trouble. Even JPEG would be much better quality than GIF in the case of N64 screenshots. There are too many colors in them.

But for SNES screenshots, the opposite is true. GIF is better.

I was already working on the Genesis/MegaDrive screenshots, so far I'm up to E, so I'll do the rest too :) ....

Many of the N64 screenshots are missing because admin couldn't take them himself, that Project64 couldn't emulate the game correctly. That's where I could come in and try to fix that, but the slow process of taking each screenshot maddens me. Unless who I am taking them for doensn't know that I am taking them....

I take it all these (and your last post) are SNES games? if I am wrong, tell me, and I'll fix it.

As of now, all previous posted submitted games should be on the master list

Rock on, this is really working! In a week or so, I am going to try to follow up on theses, to see if they are actually added to the site, maybe make a "confirmed list" or somthing too ;)

Great, I'll start with NES games at once.

Very nice guys - just keep those screenshots coming, and keep me busy reviewing them :). I don't know if this will make things more convenient, but you no longer have to rename the screenshots to the proper name (ie Name.gif and Name (2).gif), because the new system will automatically do this.
