Make Top 5 lists about gaming. It could be anything from The 5 Greatest Games Ever Made (try to think of something more original, though) to the 5 Coolest Main Characters Ever.
I'll start with...
Top 5 NES Classics That Stood The Test Of Time
Some classics, like Dragon Warrior, were great when they were released but they aren't too fun today. When you think about it, it was one big level-up. Other games, like the ones I list, have gameplay values hard to find today.
5. Final Fantasy
The classic RPG that has some gameplay values the other games in the series don't. If you have the patience, this gem is awesome even today.
Not to forget the awesome music.
4. Gunsmoke
In case you don't know, it's a western game. I'm pretty sure Clint Eastwood didn't fire half as many bullets in all his movies put together than you will do in this game.
3. Super Mario Bros. 3
Heck, this is one funny game, and the only platformer to make it to my Top 5 list.
2. Punch-Out!!
So simple, yet so fun. The controls are so simple, and still there are so many tricks to learn. Not to mention awesome graphics and sound, and humorous boxers.
Lol, Soda Popinski.
1. The Legend of Zelda
The awesomeness can't be described in words... Play the damned game, dumbass.

This is just top 5 of my games I think that are very good and worth checking out.
Resident Evil 2 - Though part 4 is probably the best in gameplay wise and graphics, RE2 is the reason why I even started to play the RE series. First time I saw this game I was like holy crap.. I still think this title has the best original story line, characters, and even gameplay is freakin great. Classica must have title.
Shining Force 3 - One of the few last titles that were released at the end of the saturns life. Even though the graphics are a bit choppy, this was the first shining game down in 3d. This even made the battle scenes even cooler to watch. Excellent and original gameplay (sorry FF tactics, sf created the tactical rpg series :p). Great character design and music to go along with the game as well. Now if only they had released the other 2 scenerios in this series to the US.
Raiden Project - A Vertical-style shooter that till this day I think is the best in this genre. You have 3 differnt types of weapons, but when they get stronger the game just gets insane. Very fun and addictive and the music is awesome.
Sonic the Hedgehog series - What can I say that you don't already know about this title? If you haven't played it, you are not a gamer period, go hide under a rock. :nono:
Xenogears - this RPG has to have the deepest most complex story I have ever read. To also top that off, this has one of the best musical scores I have ever heard in an RPG, excellent and original battle system, very well designed and created characters, and more. If you haven't played this game, I highly recommend you give it a go.

I haven't played any of them except Sonic, but I plan on playing Shining Force when I finish a few other RPG's.
I really want to play Xenogears, but the game ain't availible in Europe, and a converter is so damned expensive, damn you sony.

Top 5 PS2 Games
The PS2 has lead the way with the most third-party developers, there are many great exclusive games for the PS2, but for my top 5?...well lets see.
5. Katamari Damacy
Katamari Damacy is one of the weirdest and peculiar games ive ever played.
But it's also very addictive and fun, the cheap sticker price makes it a must have.
4. God of War
God of War focuses heavily on combat and puzzle-solving. The controls are fairly intuitive, and combat is simple at first. Like any adventure it has a fair amount of bosses and mini-games. loosely based on Greek Mythology, God of War is a great adventure game.
3. Final Fantasy X
A solid RPG game. This game brought Voice-acting, 3-d enviroments, improved FMV Sequences, brand new Battle System, great music and just a great storyline you'd expect from Square Enix. Every PS2 owner should have it.
2. Kingdom Hearts 2
I suggest this game to everyone, from people who are 6 to 60.
Reminisce on Disney's beloved characters and worlds, well still have that Final Fantasy feeling. With lots of familar Voice actors, great battle system and tons of secrets, like battling Sephiroth for instants. This game will last you about 60hours to complete everything.
1. Dragon Quest VIII
This was a tough choice, but DQVIII was one of my favorite PS2 games.
A classic RPG style game, very familar to old school Dragon Quest.
This is a very challenging game, it took me 90 hours to beat. This game probably has the most beautiful enviroments and musical score in any PS2 Game. With it's cel-shaded textures, loads of abilites and was developed by Level-5, who also worked on the Dark Cloud series. It is a true Dragon Quest game.
Well that's my Top 5 PS2 Lists. There's many other great games I would of liked to put up there, but these games i'd recommend to everyone.

Top 5 Games of All Time
1. PS1 Final Fantasy 7 - The best Final Fantasy to ever come out. No other Final Fantasy has even come close to this game. Heck no other game has even come close to this game. It may be graphically outdated but it still holds the #1 spot in my heart. Plus the storyline and gameplay are astronomical. I remember back when I was 11 and playing this game. Great times........ This is a must play. It is so much a must play that it would be worth going out and buying any one of the playstations to play this game alone. ^.^
2. Snes Final Fantasy 3 - The second best Final Fantasy to come out. Awesome story line, great gameplay, nice graphics. Must play if you never played it. Go find the rom. They probably have it here on CoolRom.
3. PS2 Devil May Cry 3 - Awesome graphics, gameplay, storyline. Plus it's hard to boot which is a +. I love a good challange. I remember playing this game to the point where I could get rank SSS on a couple of the levels. Least I think SSS is the best rank you can get. Best level is the first level after you have powered up all your weapons. Very fun to just juggle them and beat the crap out of them plus pretty good for getting money/orbs. A must play if you never played it.
4. PS1 Star Ocean: The Second Story - Awesome gameplay, graphics (for it's time), storyline. This is the best Star Ocean in my opinion. Way better than the newer ones, and improved upon the gameplay and graphics of the first Star Ocean for Snes. If you never played Star Ocean go download the Snes rom now! You can get it on coolrom so there is no excuse for that. If you can get your hands on the PS1 game it is a must play. I might know a site where you can get a copy but I'm not sure I'll have to see if they still "sell" it.
5. Xbox Ninja Gaiden - Awesome gameplay, graphics, storyline. Very hard game, but once you get the controls down it gets easier and is a blast to play. I never got to beat it, but thats because I only got to rent it. Then my xbox got stolen and I had to start all over again on my new Xbox but I don't have any money so I can't rent it. :( This is a must play if you never played it before. I'm not sure but it might of been a Xbox exclusive. If it was then its worth getting an Xbox to play this.
That was my Top 5 Games of All Time. Enough said.

.
All I have to say about that game is I am very mad at that series. I cannot take disney being next to my Final Fantasy characters. There is no way they could even actually help out Final Fantasy. Disney would just be destroyed without even a fight and you know this is true. That being said I never personally played the game, but I would try it since I heard it has good gameplay. Though I still wish it would burn for putting disney by my beloved Final Fantasy.

Is that Xenosaga? The RPG for PS2 that happens to have like 50+ hours of cinematics or something. I played that once, but I didn't have a memory card and I ended up dieing whenever the base was attacked or something. Why in the world would they think putting you as a girl without anyway to fight and having to run past monsters to be fun? >.< Though I did like it. I would of liked it more had I a memory card and it didn't make me start all over. I was like 3 hours into it -.-.

Top 5 NES Games (IMO)
5. Megaman 2 - I found this the best Megaman game out of the NES ones. It had Metal Man and Crash Man in it. They also gave you a boss fight that involved strategy more than just use right weapon+fire method.
4. Faxanadu - Exploration of the World Tree was the main point of this game. This game was a side-scroller that played like Zelda in the fighting department but it had the RPG element added to it. The game used a password system that saved your items, special items, place in game (relative to major events) and your rank. (Rank = Level. Ranks were Titles like Novice.)
3. Crystalis - This game reminded me about the Zelda series a LOT. You had four different swords that you would gain throughout the game. Wind, Fire, Water, and Thunder. They each had levels of power that you would raise with orbs and medallions. You had to use these elements to solve puzzles and defeat bosses. The gameplay was almost identical to Zelda but had the RPG element of stat building and level ups. If I remember correctly a Gameboy Colour version of this game is also out.
2. Final Fantasy - More on this later.
1. Dragon Warrior - Same as above.
Top 5 SNES Games (IMO)
5. Final Fantasy II (Tis 4 on the Playstation and in Japan.)
4. Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
3. Super Metroid
2. Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
1. Final Fantasy III (Tis 6 on the Playstation and in Japan.)
Only one I'm missing the cartridge of is Mario RPG. I want that game!
EDIT: Added some reasoning to the first three games on the Top 5 NES games.

I read that the creator of that game made it hard becausehe thinks that is how games are supposed to be. He says the people who want it easier are like dogs and want everything handed to them. The creator of the article says that he has the wrond idea about gaming. Aww, now I want to play this game, and I have no idea where to find it! I only played the NES ones.

Yeah, games are supposed to be hard. It ****es me off how all new games are so damned easy. The snes rpg's in general have perfectly well balanced difficulty, a few of them are too easy though. Kinda like Treasure of the Rudras, I would be really stuck if I hadn't come up with this kickass mantra, KILL.
Dragon Warrior is a classic, but I don't think it stood "The Test of Time". It probably was a great game when it was released but to a gamer that didn't exist during that time it's not such a great game. The sequels are slightly better, but Dragon Warrior 1 in particular had waaay to much level-gaining. If you want to spend hours gaining levels you better do it on a handheld, like in Pokémon.

Have you played Yu-Gi-Oh Ultimate Masters 2006? I'm not a big fan of yu-gi-oh but with so many cards and so many game modes it easily makes one of the best GBA games.

Nope, haven't tried that one.
I have tried (Following are all Yu-Gi-Oh! games.) Eternal Duelist Soul, Forbidden Memories, Duelist Academy and WorldWide Edition.

Duel Academy is actually a better game, I like being at that school and stuff it makes Ultimate Masters feel pretty dull but I prefer Ultimate Masters because it has more cards.
It's just so damn fun, getting new cards, building new decks - there's almost an infinite number of awesome decks you can make with the 1000+ cards.

lol That sucks.. anyways, Xenogears is the Sequel to Xenosaga (atleast that's what they say). Xenogears is way better than saga though. Saga is more like a movie with gameplay in it. Xenogears is like 50+ hours long and theres not many long cutscenes in the game. The battle system alone makes the game worth buying, I don't think it's in any other rpg. The story line is what keeps you playing the game. After you play this, Final Fantasy looks like a joke.

What made me laugh is Xenogears was made by the exact same people who did FFVII...so it is a Final Fantasy of some sort.
Xenosaga was released by Capcom, which might be way you have not enjoy it as much as Xenogears and you have it backwards Xenosaga is the sequel to Xenogears.

Actually the game is made by Monolith and produced by Namco.
This is off of Wikipedia:
"While Xenogears has never had an official sequel or prequel, many mistake a game developed by Monolith Soft and released by Namco called Xenosaga on the PlayStation 2, to be a prequel. Tetsuya Takahashi was the director and writer for both Xenogears and Xenosaga, however note that Xenosaga is not an official prequel to Xenogears because Square Enix owns the rights to Xenogears."
Though it is not official, there is nothing mentioned of xenosaga being a sequel and earlier magazines I've read and elsewhere have always said it was a prequel, I have never read it anywhere saying it's a sequel. That's why I say it's a prequel to Xenogears.

I haven't tried the Yu-Gi-Oh series yet. I probably will someday. Another good card game, but only on the gameboy is <.< >.> *GASP* Pokemon Card trading game. It sucked in real life when I played it, but I find it to be fun on the gameboy. They need to come out with a Magic the Gathering game for the handhelds or consols (Yes I know they made a CRAPY game on Xbox. I beat that game in one day with every character. Way to easy and it weasnt even the actual way to play the game. Though I will give them props for the game because it was somewhat fun untill you realize how easy it is. Maybe online it would be funner?) I know they made a Computer version for it, but I don't want to have to play online just to play a game like that. Special with dial up. -.- I could see that going on for hours.

Ah I see. Though I don't think it could beat FF7 in my heart. Many games have tried and so far no luck. I still hold on firmly that FF7 is the best game ever made. Specially seeing as how it was the only game that ever made me cry. I was so sad when I found out that aeris dies. Damn Sephiroth. <.< >.> Yes thats right I cried because of a video game wanna make something of it? Didn't think so. *walks away* XD
