I notice a bunch of Roms don't work, and some do. Is that normal? what controller can I use with Mame that's best. I really like Ikarri Warriors but I can play if off my keyboard to good, can't aim well. Space Invaders is scrolled to far down to see my ship. I suck at this crap. All I've got is mame and spyhunter and Ikarri and a crappy working space invaders. What do I need to do. Thanks

Some games not working can be a couple of different things. First you might need required Bios files.

We arent allowed to give you a link to the Bios files or give the files to you. Try Google.
It could also be that you need the Parent Rom and that you only have the Clone file.

I use the Xbox 360 controller, but Mame supports just about anything.

Can anyone tell me why Donkey Kong and Space invaders screens are cut off at the bottome of my monitor. The games work fine but I can't see the bottom. It's like i need to adjust it to fit. Any a help would be appriciated.

Well, If You Ever Played Donkey Kong And Space Invaders in the Arcade, you would remember that their Monitor Screens were tall and rectangular, not more square like a monitor or TV. So if you want to see the whole screen, you are gonna have to adjust your display settings in the emulator. Try changing your display size settings.

I can't, if I open Mame by clicking on the picture of the archade maching and open up DK us it is does not run, does not have enough of something. But if I open the roms folder and drag and drop the compressed file on the archade machine picture it will fire up. Don't underestimate how little i understand this stuff. :)

This info didn't help, I must have downloaded something off hear that screwed mame up. I had to go get it somewhere else. When you get a good working mame, you don't have this problem. Also you could have told me about playing the games in a window, which would have helped I had to find out on my own. The display settings is the last thing you want to mess with, with my working version everything adjusts perfectly. Why is it so hard to get help on here?

Because not everyone knows as much of a certain emulator others do, DarthBrady did his best to help U out, I'm sure of that, but his knowledge is more with PCs :).

What is Ur exact problem, please specify :) ....

My problem was the games started too big, just like I said in the first post, the bottom of the games were chopped off. I took me hours to figure this out I'm terrible at this stuff I admit. What's the best way to learn how to run Mame, is there instructions somewhere? How about a controller for Mama, which is the best one and where to get it. I think I need a roller ball for Ikari Warriors. Thanks a bunch.

The best way to learn how MAME works is play as much with it as U possibly can. If U screw the whole thing up, just delete it and extract a new one :).

As for the instructions, read the FAQ that comes with it, pretty much covers it all :).

Not sure which joystick is the best, U better go to a store near U and have a look at what kind of joysticks they offer, pick one U think it will satisfy Ur needs, no-one else but U can decide this for U. How ever, I suggest U get one that has a auto-fire option, comes in quite handy if U want to play some shoot 'em up or beat em up :) ....

I really appreciate your help, I'm terrible with this stuff I mean terrible, but you now what I got the @##$ thing working now and once I get a good controller i'll be so freakin happy! Any controllers come with a spinball so I can make it work with ikari warriors? Thanks again.
