You can definitely find plugins for GFX Sound and Controller interfaces for Project 64. It's as easy as a Google search for "Project 64 Plugins".

have fun P64 is a great emulator. Some games are not emulated 100% but most are really well EMU'd. If a game doesn't work a plugin will usually fix the problem.

I can say that, though I prefer Project64, some people prefer Nemu64. The best emulator is not a good thing to ask for. Some ROMs work better with different emulators. My preferences of Project64 over Nemu64:

1. Can use plugins other than the ones that come with PJ64. Nemu will only let you change the graphics plugin. I would download a five-star input plugin from http://www.ngemu.com/n64/pj64.php?action=plugins so you can have better control over ROMs in PJ64. This includes using your mouse instead of only the keyboard, though this was a disappointment.
2. Has better help instructions (that is if Nemu even has any real ones).
3. Proper grammar!
4. Displays more ROM information as well as problems the ROM may have with PJ64.

Some ROMs, like The World is not Enough 007 ROM, may work better on Nemu. The reason for that is because Project 64 uses a fourth type of plugin called an RSP plugin. This ROM has a problem with the audio department of this plugin. There is only one RSP plugin out there and it comes with PJ64.

Other ROMs, like Banjo-Tooie, are damaged for some reason. It has core errors. Project64 will tell you about its errors. Unless you are a ROM reprogrammer, reapairing this ROM is out of the question. I personally don't know how to do this, but shouldn't someone tell the admin that the Banjo-Tooie ROM is damaged? I know it says CoolROM won't take responsibility and yadayada, but it's worth a try.

Are they any 64 emulators out there that runs the roms really good? All the ones I have downloaded have had something wrong with them. Like, I will get the Batman Beyond game and alot of it will be whited out.

I don't have any problems playing either Banjo-Tooie, or TWINE 007. I tried both on PJ64 with default settings. They do run at 50 FPS while most games run at 60 FPS, but you can't tell with the naked eye they are running any slower. I don't have any problems what-so-ever playing Batman with PJ64 on default settings.

I would take Iconoclasts advice and just try another emulator. There are several out there. Here is where you can download a lot> http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/n64/

PJ64 works for me on most of the games I really want to play, but there are several others emulators you could try to see how they work.

Same for star wars RS, If you can't get it to work with PJ64 then try downloading other emulators from the link above. I have only tried PJ64, 1964, and Nemu64, but if you go to the link there are many others. You'll just have to download and try them.

60 FPS is standard for video games. Both my PJ64 and ZSNES run games at 60FPS, I've seen games run at 50FPS (Banjo-Tooie, TWINE 007) on PJ64 but you can't tell they are running slow. when it starts getting at 45FPS or less, you can usually start noticing the game is choppy. Some emulators allow you to run games at a higher FPS, I know PJ64 does this, but its as if you are playing the game in fast foward mode and you can't tell whats going on, so theres not point in having it faster than 60FPS. running games faster then that is like watching a movie in fast foward. In PJ64 you can hit F4 during game play and it will speed the game up and also the sound. This wouldn't really be a good method to use to fix choppy sound because it would speed the video up as well. This can be fun to play around with, but not pratical for serious game play.

i used to get 45 to 50 fps when playin goldeneye on pj 64, i defragged my computer and it now is 60fps. try a defrag if u have installed/uninstalled a lot of stuff to ur pc it might help a bit.

I defrag atleast once a week. the only roms I have problems with is Banjo-Tooie and TWINE 007 run at 50FPS, I've changed video settings but with no results. Doesn't matter, you can't tell they are running slow anyway at 50FPS.

I wouldn't know how defraging would speed up your PJ64 gameplay. I would think once you load project64.exe and the rom into your PCs ram, it wouldn't have anything to do with the harddrive. Unless your pc didn't have enough ram to handle project64 and had to use space on your harddrive as a swap file or something, but yeah, defragging is a good idea no matter what. It will make programs startup way faster and prevent them from crashing while loading.
