A forum is too large of a space for discussion of sports and championships, especially on an emulation website. That sounds like it could all go in a thread, don't you all think?

No, that'd be one huge thead. I wanted to post something myself, but I'm afraid that if I post in General Chat, that it'll get lost in a day. Too much traffic over there.

A thread on sports wouldn't be nearly as large as the Random Info thread, and an entire forum for sports, especially on an emulation website, is just too much.

It doesn't matter how large it'd be. PC gaming and Emulation has to do with EXACTALLY what this site is about, but it's one of the smallest forums. If you don't want the sports forum, then that's fine. But if we get it, will it really matter to you? Just don't post in it if that's the problem.

Or did you mean thread?
I don't have a problem with it, exactly. I mean, to be honest, I really don't like sports. Another silly system of entertainment, but that's not the point. I'm just saying it's not worth having it's own forum on an emulation website. In a forum for it, you could only think of threads like, Championships, Basketball, Football, and so on, which is roughly sufficient for its own forum. But if there were a forum for sports, I'd request a forum for what your favorite type of toilet plunger is. Just kidding; not like that. I don't hate sports that much, but I mean, there are other things that are worth having their own forum just as much as sports, and it would also be unfair and unbalanced for it to have its own forum when these other things do not. I mean, isn't there some kind of sports forum website somewhere around here?
This website is not exactly about PC Gaming/Emulation. It has almost nothing to do with it. CoolROM.com pertains to Gaming and Emulation all all types, not General Chat, not Graphics, and not Sports.
I'm just trying to show you the other side of the argument, here. No mean to offend you or anything; if this site does get a Sports forum, I won't hate anyone. I'm just saying what there is to be said.

No, I'm not getting offended. Although I can answer some of your questions!
1. This is an emulation forum, but it's also to communicate. Movies and Music also has nothing to do with emulation, but it's there. Putting an extra forum would only make more people post, making the forum more active.
2. General Chat has too much "traffic" like I said before. It would balance the posts.
3. If you think that it's unfair to have a Sports forum, and not some other forum, then ask admin to add one you like. Adding the Sports forum doesn't make anything unfair.

1. Communication is a skill for posting in a forums website, not a purpose of this site. The purpose of this site is to troubleshoot emulation, and the General Chat forum here is for socialization-related things that do not go into emulation-related discussions.
2. The biggest a sports forum should ever get, is a subforum of General Chat. CoolROM.com Forums/General Chat/Sports. It should be a subforum, if even a forum at all. Dividing General Chat into subforums would be a better way to 'balance' the posts. The only reason it has so much 'traffic', as you say, is because it is a major forum, where excessive and irrelevant (to all other forums) discussions are posted in new threads. ROM Request is even larger than General Chat, though. A lot of threads Kameo closed.
3. When I said it was unfair, I meant, there are other things besides Sports that also deserve to have their own forum, but only just as much as Sports would deserve. Sports is only one of the many things that deserve to be their own subforum of General Chat, and Sports alone being one, takes organization, and would seem unfair to the other ideas.

I don't much care for watching sports, but I do like playing them. I think, that if they do want a forum, they should have one. It would keep the sports stuff out of the other forums. :p
But seriously, it would make sense, considering we have a music/movie forum. Maybe, it could be the music/movies/sports forum? Or perhaps just and Entertainment forum?

Well, you see, you tend to give long, drawn-out explanations, whereas I tend to give one-liners.
It probably wasn't that it was or wasn't correct, it's probably that it was skipped over because it was a huge chunk of text.

See? If that's the problem, then I'll assure you, I'LL USE IT! We don't have to make a big deal about a little forum. Someone go and PM admin about this. I would like a Sports forum, but getting it, or not getting it won't change my life.

Of course we don't have to make a big deal about it; obviously, some people don't understand English, so I'll just let you PM admin, and by his response to you, you'll see in the universal language that a Sports forum, due to reasons posted by me and noodles, just isn't right for an emulation website.
Come on, guys. Sports-related topics go in General Chat, or become their own forum in an Entertainment forums website, but never in an emulation forums website. If you won't listen to details, you won't listen to why this forum shouldn't be added.

A forum can never be too large, its purpose is to share Ur opinion, view, thoughs, and so on, on certain things. This could be the news, Games, Animes, Movies, Music, graphics, and also sports.
There's a whole lot of people doing some sport, I bet there's more people who do sports than who play videogames. Why should we not have a forum for it?? We have one for Anime/Manga and Movies/Music. It can be just me, but what do those have in common with Games??
Don't U think a forum where U can discuss about emulation only gets a bit boring in a couple of days??
I say we go for a sports forum, I like the idea, it doesn't change the forum for the bad, it'll only add some space for the people who would like to discuss some sports. I don't see anything wrong with that, really :) .....

Well put. If, for one reason or another, a forum dedicated entirely to sports is too much to ask for, then perhaps change the Music/Movies forum to the Music/Movies/Sports forum, or maybe just, the Entertainment forum.

You put up a good argument, though I think if this forum is added, it will be kind of small in how many threads users start in it, but as long as so many users want this idea,. I suppose it is in my blood to get other people 'down' about things, including their ideas, just because I see something as obsolete. I agree that admin should add this forum, due to the many users that request it, but I await to see how successful in user activity this forum's going to be.

Thank you guys for all your suggestions. While I believe sports talk can do fine under General Chat, I created a Sports/Recreation forum due to the overwhelming response from our users. After all, the forums is about our users, and not about me! I have made both Kristaps513 and pizzaman moderators of this forum, because of their thorough interest in Sports, as well as their status as a long-time user. Please let me know what you guys think, and I am always listening to new ideas!
