2. Before posting a problem make sure you have at least looked a little while for the solution in the threads. Use the Search feature. Especially for Saturn, almost anything you need to know has been posted, so quit making new topics about it unless your absolutely sure it hasnt been discussed yet.
3. If you ask for a Non-ESA protected Rom ask in the appropriate place, which would be Rom Request. Dont ask anywhere else. I will just delete the thread.
4. If I see pointless flaming or arguing in this section, I will delete whatever posts
from those individuals that I feel is neccessary. Only leaving the important stuff if there even is any in the thread.

ridley, perhaps you should update that ESA-protected list with those titles admin has announced in that announcement he started? Just saying, because without an organized list, users could make mistakes on these forums.
[Or, if you would permit, I could do it for you.]

Despite the above post, the rules probaly should be edited since things like GBA are allowed now.

Just agreeing with you :)
Maybe if enough people say it, somebody will update them. Although they kind of seem out of place to me.

Yeah, though the only one that can is tatsuya. We really should do section mods and not board mods. You could have the who emulator section and klend coud do the general section.

I don't get why you can't post the links cuz you aren't technically suppposed to download the games unless you own them

Somewhat of a thread necromancy but, to answer your question, when it comes to games there is a fine line between abandonware and shareware(retail games) in cases like this, plus the fact that some games are more or less unobtainable and in some cases, the company that made them no longer exist thus making a rerelease or revival of the game for sale impossible, basically esa protected games are games that are, well protected from the abandonware class.
As for ps2, ps3, 360 etc, that falls into the fact that the games are still obtainable through retail chains and online dealers.

There's no thin line. That's just nonsense made up by people defending their own illegal actions.
There's two kinds of games, basically. The ones that have their copyrights revoked, thus became Public Domain. And then there are the games which still have the copyrights in tact.
More info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abandonware
If you don't own the copyrights you're not entitled to make or own copies of games unless you have permission from those who do own the copyrights. That nobody enforces the law on it is because the games are old and aside from a few ESA titles the copyright holders don't care about us downloading them. But that doesn't make it legal.
But who gives a crap anyway. Download & Play. That's my motto. ;)

Well considering i hate the entertainment industry with a passion, i agree with you on the fact of who has the moral high ground.
