OMG its GREAT. It has gangs like in the new ones in territories and all that.

I did like GTA, but I don't like the overhead veiw. I crash too much with the cars. :/

Return to Castle Wolfenstein? I had that for Xbox, until my mom traded it back to the store for Kung Fu Chaos (which ended up a very worthy trade) just because it had guns and shooting it it. But then there's GoldenEye 007, which is not exactly my favorite game, but I liked it. The destruction was fun, I guess, going around with x2 grenade launchers, RCP-90's, rocket launchers, and blowing up everything around me.

Well that depends on many factors, like trademarks, copyrights, and licensing.
9 out of 10 times it's not legal. But I am pretty good at finding out what is and isn't freeware/abandonware.

Just ask which games you are curious about, and I'll have it checked out for you;)

No, they are not the only games that are free, they are just some of the most famous/popular titles around.

There are a LOT of free games out there to be found, but very few former commercial/retail games that have gone the way of freeware/abandonware. :(

Now that the demand for Vintage games and multiplayer online games has taken such a large increase in the last few fiscal quarters, more and more companies like vivendi and others, are turning back on their promises to offer old vintage title as freeware, and renewing the copyrights and trademark licenses. so they can try to screw us all to make another dollar on games that are protected but STILL unsold as retail. at least for now.

We'll just have to wait, in many cases, to see who has the balls to step up to the plate (like Rockstar and rockstar north ;) ), and keep their promise of offering free titles and a love for their games fans, not just their money.

The Incredible Machine Titles are now owned By Vivendi Universal, after they bought out Sierra-Online. They are ESA protected and Retail Licensed to date as well.

Vivendi has plans to release the Series on Xbox360 Live Arcade, but keep in mind most every promise to re-release a sierra title owned by vivendi has not been kept so far.

I added 3 new titles to the list. They are GREAT remakes of 3 of my favorite games, the First 3 in the Sierra Kings Quest Series.

These are 3rd party remakes, and are done VERY well, especially Kings Quest 3!

I have that game, and didnt even know it had comix zone! man, I gotta get that unlocked.

Heres 2 RPGmaker 2000 games that are really pretty good...Endless Nova is really good..especially for a RPGmaker game. You should check em out...both are freeware and free to distribute.

dude, rapidshare is pretty easy to use, it does a little faster than megaupload, but you have to wait an hour in between every download.:mad3:

Try Microsoft Simulators (Train and Flight, though there may be more). They are as complicated as the real deal. Well, almost.

Yo! Got this fine little shooter! Die Slave. It's not about shooting slaves or something like that. It's something like "Darius Twins" or "R-Type" on the SNES. Has anyone ever tried Freeciv? Its a great remake of Civilization, im pretty sure its freeware. Well its not that great, takes a little while to get used to the controls, and waiting between turns.

I got a couple for this:

Tribal Wars (www.tribalwars.net) is an mmo game. I'm on W15 and W24, same name as here.

Phospher (www2.rasterwerks.com) is a play in browser fps game. Like Halo 3's online play, but it's in beta so there is only one map and one mode. It's really basic. You can play against the AI, or you can go multiplayer. If anyone ever wants to play you can PM me or message me on AIM. *EDIT* Phospher plays with Flashplayer, so if you don't have it, it will prompt you to download it.

Guys, I know it seems like a kiddy game, but I have to recommend Wizard101. I've been able to really get into this game lately. It's free to play (of course there's always the option of upgrading your account) and the gameplay itself is unique in a good way. The graphics aren't bad either. It's worth a try if nothing else.

The above link sports a free download of Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst and an easy set up to get into SCHT's free server. As far as I know PSO:BB is a legal download now, seeing as Sega was "bought out" and thier servers were shut down. If I'm wrong let me know and I'll break the link.

P.S. Phantasy Star Online isn't as large scale as Phantasy Star Universe, but it's much easier to pick and play.

P.S.S. If anyone downloads it and wants some help leveling, PM me. I'll run you through some Boss Rushes. ; )

Actually, FOmar is better used as a melee FO, while HUcastseal is best in evade, it's best to use them other ways.

It is free, you just have to download it and make a login id with no more than 10 characters for pass or username.

I use to play the hell out of some PSO back in the day.
I started on DC. with the name Klandafu. then by the time I got it for XB I had realized it was Klendathu and not Klandafu.

Anyways I had multiple high lvl characters on both the DC and XB. My favorite weapon for some reason was the Spread Needle, The Spread Needle I had on XB had a 75% chance to Stun. Wow man good times. I may DL this Thanks for the Link.

DO NOT use more than 10 letters in your username or pass, it will not register since it's on the japanese version of the game (more items, etc)

Yeah, just like those old rpg's, in japan most letters are 2, such as "ka or "ga", occasionally a 1 or 3 letter exists, only the vowels are 1 letter excluding n, and "shi" and "chi".

Well ep 3 was basically a card battle game, so it wouldn't work for the most part, also your forgetting the kanji.

Well, i do know that 10+ will cause it to not even register the account, simply because the server isn't written to read it.

I know that tatsuya but the controls were a bit awkward cause of the type of controler I HAVE. Xpadder helps for OTHER THINGS though so it was a good find either way.

Although I think I'ma be getting myself a logitec controller, not very soon but yeah. The controller I have works, once I had realized what was where. That and the keyboard controls aren't difficult just "new" (to me). But once I started EVERYTHING came to me suddenly. It was like a flash of, "AWESOME... I missed you PSO!!!" I thank whoever gave the link... that game will ONCE AGAIN eat away many many hours of my time.

A version of the NES classic "The Legend of Zelda", available on PC without any emulators and loads mods (or fan-made "quests") like modern PC games do. Apparently has support for both classic 8-bit graphics+sound and enhanced 16-bit graphics+sound. For Windows and DOS, Linux and Mac versions were being developed, but I haven't seen any updates to the downloads since 2004, though the main site was updated last month, and a few times this year. Worth a look if you'd like a version of Zelda that's easily moddable and expandable like Doom is.

There's a Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG that is freeware and free to play. I've been on that pretty hard the last two weeks. The GFX are way better than Warcraft.
