how big is a average N64 rom, does anyone know? I want to know befor I decide I want to test out a N64 emulator

I dont have any N64 roms right now or a working emulator because I know my laptop doesnt wanna run anything more than 16bit and certainly N64 wont run smooth on it

Can I request:
Wave Race 64
Turok Dinosaur Hunter
Golden Eye
WWF Wrestling
Mario 64

Maybe you could tell me the file sizes, that would be nice.
I bet most if not all are common enough to be found easily or with out problem

Are you requesting those files to be added or just requesting for their file sizes? I believe most, if not, all of those files are already included in our N64 section (excluding the ESA protected titles, of course). :)

most n64 games are 9-13 megabytes.

I have seen N64 roms as low as 2MB and as large as 30MB

Yes, ROMs vary from 4 to 32 megabytes in file size. Super Mario 64, for one, is protected by the ESA from download on this site. But keep Google searching...there are two sites that give this ROM. Super Mario 64 is 8 MB (6 MB when zipped).

I've never seen an N64 game smaller then 4MB (unless zipped) and they can be as big as 64MB. There are only two games I know of to be 64MB (Conker's BFD, and Resident Evil 2) I would guess that the most common size for an N64cartridge is 16MB. They follow this pattern though:

4MB
8MB
12MB
16MB
32MB
64MB

With the exception of a dozen or so 12MB roms, they double in size, I don't know why though...

N64 cartridges have such a huge diffence in size...

anyway, the smallest N64 rom I've seen is Aerogauge, at 2 MB zipped and 4MB unzipped It is a racing game, but I wouldn't guess the size would be so small. It's available here on coolROM, btw...

Im surprised at the size of them I may have to keep installing external hard drives to keep up with all the games I have
