does anyone one know if you can tade pokemon from a version to another version even thought they are roms

I don't think so. If you're after the trade-only Pokemon, I think you'd have to use the Gameshark function.

Actually yes you can all you need to do is download a programme called VBALink from what used to be called gbxemu(dont know the new site) and you can actually trade pokemon or battle yourself on dbz buu's fury you can basicly use it on any gba game you can link on

that vba link doesn't work for pokemon so what do i use to trade?

There is another emulator with link capabilities, called TGB Dual, which supports trading between older gameboy and gameboy color games. You can download it from http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gameboy/tgbdual.html

Also it might be worth noting, VBAL does support pokemon games, only not anything older than gameboy advanced.
