VBA Link problems - Can't Trade Pokemon

Whenever I try to link my two roms together (Emerald and Ruby in this case) I can do everything fine until I walk into the trade room. The first instance of the emulator always displays a "Error, cannot communicate, please turn the power off then on" message and the other one follows suit after 2 seconds.

I thought it was a rom issue so I got a few different versions and none of them can comminicate

why not trying saving in the trade center on both roms? i would do it with ya but don't have them,also when you save in the trade center, on both roms,it may or may not work,i haven't tested it yet.

You can't enter the trade room unless you're linked and saved in front of the entrance...

I've saved in front of it on both roms and it just can't communicate.

I'd like to trade with myself, not anyone else... but thanks anyways.

how do you trade pokemon with two computers, i have a usb cord and both computers have pokemon gold. or can i trade on the same computer? PLEASE I NEED TO KNOW SO I CAN BEAT THE GAME?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

As everyone here has asked, is it possible to trade through the use of your own computer? Maybe open the blue and red games at the same time and do something? I have no clue! I have been trying different ways but am now stumped!!

Pls help, I need to trade these blasted pokemon! hehe :)

as far as i can tell, you can NOT trade with the GBC/GB pokemon roms, you can with the GBA's as stated on the VBA site. You CAN trade between computers but they need 2 be networked, if your trading between the same computer make sure you change the configurations on the link option and click same computer!
