I've installed project64, then I tried running a ROM file, then this Graphic Error message pops up and won't let me run the game as shown below:

The DirectDraw7 Error.log shows:
[8:26:30 PM 5/11/2006] Error creating Z-Buffer code = 88760091 (24 / 00FFFFFF)
[8:32:38 PM 5/11/2006] Error creating Z-Buffer code = 88760091 (24 / 00FFFFFF)
[8:34:31 PM 5/11/2006] Error creating Z-Buffer code = 88760091 (24 / 00FFFFFF)
[8:38:41 PM 5/11/2006] Error creating Z-Buffer code = 88760091 (24 / 00FFFFFF)
[8:40:26 PM 5/11/2006] Error creating Z-Buffer code = 88760091 (24 / 00FFFFFF)

Any ideas on what I can do about this, to make this works?

Your hardware is insufficient to emulate the Nintendo 64. You need to either upgrade your video card, most likely the root of the problem, or try using a different PC, if you have access to another one.

I tried using a different PC, a PC that's better than the one I'm using now, the same exact problem still occurs.

I even tried downloading an update for my video card from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.mspx and it still doesn't work.

Is there anything else I could do to solve this problem?

You may have downloaded the driver software update for your graphics card (assuming you also remembered to install it), but the problem may not be your graphics card"s driver software; it may be your graphics card itself. I think you may need to upgrade your hardware.

In Project64, choose the "Options/Configure Graphics Plugin..." command. At the top-left of the configuration dialoge that comes up, what does the blue text say?

I would indeed show you what it says but unfortunately, I can't.

Uh, for one thing, Project64 isn't telling you that you are missing your graphics plugin and therefore cannot configure it because you are using an old, out-dated version of Project64. You must have deleted a folder located in the same folder as the EXE, named 'Plugin'. Try installing the latest version of Project64 from pj64.net. You are using version 1.4; the latest freeware version, 1.6, will fix your problem.

Okay, that worked, but I also forgot to mention that I want this to work for online, making project64k to work. Is there anything I can do to get rid of that Graphic Error?

What you told me to do did managed to get rid of that graphic error for single player. :) I'm also hoping that you could do the same for project64k as well.

Well, there are other ways to use an emulator for online play. 1964 is also a NetPlay emulator, but to use Project64k, you seem to be missing the plugins. In the same folder of where you have Project64k (or PJ64k).exe stored in, is there a folder named "Plugin?"

Yeah, there is.

Can you link me to where I can download 1964?

I think the home page for the 1964 emulator is http://1964emu.emulation64.com. You can download it from there. For some games, online play (a.k.a. NetPlay) with 1964 can have problems, but same thing for Project64k.

Project64k should work, though. Try choosing the "Options/Settings..." command in Project64k. There should be three fields: One for a graphics plugin, one for a sound plugin, and one for an input/controller plugin. If they are blank, that is why the game will not start and neither of the plugin configuration options will work in the Options menu. Try to fill in a plugin for each field. Now does it work?
