Starcraft is a PC game. It doesn't need an emulator.
Unless he is looking for Starcraft 64, N64 version of the game (which sucks IMO). THEN he'd need an emulator.

You can Emulate old PC games. You need Dosbox, or M.E.S.S. But Starcraft doesn't need to be Emulated. If he cant get it to work normally, then perhaps he should try right clicking on the .exe and telling it to run in Win 95 Compatability mode. But it should just work, it works for me.

Playing an N64 game on your PC using Project64, that is emulation. Playing an N64 game on your Xbox, that is also emulation, as N64 games weren't designed for the Xbox console. But playing an N64 game on your N64...that is not emulation. And running a PC game on your PC is not emulation.
That is why it is impossible to emulate the PC when using the PC is because of the definition of emulation.
You don't need an emulator to play PC games; they should work just like PC games already on your computer afaik.

I think if you want to play a game that runs only on a different OS, like DOS or Windows 98, you need either a patch to make it work on XP, or you need to emulate that OS. Well, that's what it seems like.

Or right click go to Properties and Click on Windows compatibility mode for whatever Windows version it requires. I had to do this for Devil May Cry 3 for my x64 system. Ive also had to do it with certain Win95 games.
