Yes it is. Nearly all emulators I have used have a built in controller plug in that uses your keyboard as controlls. Normally those you can set up on your own to whatever you feel like. There are also controller adapters that convert controllers to usb. I own one that converts N64/Ps2 to usb. If you are usign your emulators alot and love all your games, I would strongly suggest you get one.

Hell, yes. You don't need a controller to emulate any console, handheld, or arcade type. Take the Nintendo 64 for example. I could buy a USB adapter to hook up my N64 controller to my PC and use that to control my games, but honest to God, I really prefer the keyboard.
Many people think the N64 controller is better for controlling the game than the keyboard, especially for games like Super Mario 64, Mario Party, and some FPS games. I have my ways of getting around, though. In fact, you can actually spin Bowser around in SM 64 much better and quickly than on the N64 controller, if you toy around with your directional keys in the right pattern.
But, you don't need my crap. Why do you ask? What console or whatever are you trying to emulate?

Go to Plugins>Input Settings and configure it there. Also, you gotta wait a bit for bumping your post, this is a forum, not an IM program.
